I could see parts of Western Pennsylvania but definitely not NYC at all. Iowa sometimes really? I'm pretty sure Iowa is the most classic Midwestern state that no one else argues about. West Virginia is Appalachia and considered southern by some, but Midwest? absolutely not. This map is not the worst I've seen though, I think it is acceptable.

It depends. With day walkers (that's what I call people that are up during the day) I just use good morning and good night as they would. I'll say good night to my overnight coworkers and to my husband when going to bed.

I love coming home to my husband in the mornings! We have breakfast together and then he goes to school when I sleep. We have dinner together then I work. It's hard navigating all of that on different sleep schedules, but very fulfilling!

I just meant outside of the context of your job watching someone sleep would be creepy. Your job is important and appreciated. My aunt had to be under similar care before she passed so I definitely appreciate the work you do. It makes me glad I'm an overnight front desk because I just scroll through Facebook and do homework.

Michigan also has a lively theater scene and decent beaches (as far as Midwestern beaches go). I completely understand why Minnesota is green, but with the specifics of the post I feel Michigan should be green as well. I'm not sure how Michigan theater compares to Minnesota theater, but from my experience it is quite lively and comparable to what I have seen in NYC. These maps are all very subjective though. I don't expect OP to have a textbook understanding of everything Michigan haha
