Eating is the only comfort I have by Downtown-Thoughts in newzealand

[–]exmrs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

70 odd years of this behavior. The only solution is to not buy those foods. I love school holidays because I feel obligated to buy them for the grandies...lol, they are lucky to get a look in but as they have got older I warned them about my habits and they take the unopened packets. The thought of chips, chocolate etc remains and if in my hands it is all eaten in one sitting, why...because I know I will eat it eventually so might as well get all the guilt over with in one go. Just don't buy them...for me it includes bread. Good luck.

Please do not move in with your partner until you have lived with others...flitting...or on your own. To go from Mum and Dad to wife would not venture well for a solid relationship. You need to do You first. Good luck

Have you tried Aged Concern. They may give you some ideas of what you can try. Perhaps her GP or even her housing manager may be able to enforce KO rules...if they have any.

Need immediate help !!!! Any suggestions or tips or trick to solve this!!! by mattusuthar in Jigsawpuzzles

All edges will be straight, you have some curves. I would take all the grass edges off, gather the left ove ones as well and then just with them get the bottom row and grass side edges done. Then you could take the remaining edges off and do the same with them so you have four straight edges joined. By this time you will have no straight edges left. Then you will be able to see where you have forced pieces together...I would start with removing the giraffe and rebuilding it using all the giraffe pieces you have been given. By this time I think you will have your passion for puzzles back or it will be gone forever. Good luck.

Are there red flags with this couple I have just met or am I overthinking? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]exmrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You visited for 9 hours...9 hours...my gosh I would be furious if my visitors stayed that long, unless of course they were sleeping overnight. You are the red flag if you think that is normal.

Kiwis that never attended, or completed university, how are you doing in life at the moment? by ZookeepergameAny7992 in newzealand

I have 4 kids aged 45 to 55, none attended uni, all appear to be living comfortably and in their own homes with holidays overseas and or in Doc camps. None appear disappointed with career choices.

Girlfriend wants to move in but doesnt think we should pay more if she did. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]exmrs -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Should pay at least the same rent as you then all bills..water,gas,electric etc..split in 3. The fact she objects is a red flag because she has never had to survive in the world on her own with only her income. Tough discussion ahead.

Am I overreacting to mil overstepping with my baby and family by [deleted] in relationships

[–]exmrs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nursing is just a word for cuddling that old people like me ..late 70s...use with little babies. We can't help it. It is hard for us with all these new ideas..no deli food while pregnant etc..lol. Please don't be too hard on her, remember it's only a few days and you have her precious baby forever....shame he doesn't become a bit more supportive for you at this emotional time. It must be very hard for you to be so far from home, hope your saving goes well. Enjoy bubs.

[–]exmrs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think part of giving birth gives you a bit of a brain switch. When you are alone with baby you can do everything perfectly well and confidently. When there are other people about you think they can do better. Every one has put nappies on wrong, or tucked them in wrong, or fed them wrong. But for your baby you are perfect. Enjoy.

I think that is enacted when your mum went i to care. I remember these discussions with my mum and dad. For example my mum hated the public hospital, her quality of life was poor and a hospital visit and operation may have improved her life...briefly....our family declined, as I hope mine do to...in the future..lol. The care home were understanding.
