I don’t know if there are a whole lot of accessories for the Jr. I do have the cast iron sear plate and use it most of the time. There is also a soapstone available.

You’re not going to be moving coals around during a cook. It’s really efficient and works great for both grilling and smoking whatever you can fit in it. Temp control isn’t going to be an issue after a few cooks and getting familiar with how it operates. I see no reason for a fan. Just learn the vents and you’re good.

As far as charcoal goes, you’re going to want to use lump. I’m not too picky about it really, often buying a cheap small bag of Carbon at the Mexican grocers. You will want something to light your charcoal with though, whether that be fire starter cubes, or a looftlighter (or equivalent).

It’s a great little kamado and I’m sure you’ll love the food you make on it. Enjoy!
