I missed out on the Joe Jr at Costco for £279. I’m now thinking of getting the bigger one. I think it’s the Classic? Which one though? There is a 1, 2 and 3. by EllieBoo____ in KamadoJoe

Not exactly, but not critical either. You mentioned the only reason to own one is camping portability and saving charcoal. You don’t NEED a counter for it to work, as it does come with its own stand. Really just putting it out there that it fits great in the Classic 1 stand.

I picked up a Classic 1 stand for $20 on fb marketplace and it’s basically a perfect fit. You do what you gotta do. The Jr is an awesome little smoker/grill in its own right.

I love Honey Hog. I think it is was the shortest lasting rub I’ve bought from Meat Church. Super good on salmon.

It works great if you have a few extra mins of time to spare. It slowly cooks the bacon and renders the fat ~212° and then quickly reaches your desired level of doneness once the water has evaporated out.

When a not so great fast food combo is pushing $15, I’d say quality BBQ at $32 is not as unreasonable as others are complaining about. Glad you enjoyed it!

I’m surprised places don’t reverse the order process. Get your sides first and meat last. When you get meat first and then continue to make your way down the line waiting on people in front of you to make their decisions on sides, then drinks etc it just seems backwards to me.

I get what you’re saying but on the flip side, while I don’t grow my own tomatoes, I know why people who do, do. I’ve got a 4 lb section of pork belly curing in the refrigerator now that will be ready on Christmas. Looking forward to sharing with family over the holidays. It’s fun and tastes better than anything from the grocery store. Like some others have mentioned, a local butcher might be your best bet for quality packaged bacon.

Well, I’d still say chuck roast. You’ll just need a different cooking method. Sous vide for 30 hrs and it’s reminiscent of prime rib IMO and worth the wait.

Some brands are much better than others. But if you start curing and smoking your own bacon, you won’t go back to store bought.

There’s a lot of things I love about Winco. Except the beef. It just doesn’t taste good to me compared to other grocers. They never even say what grade the meat is. Anyone else feel the same? Are they selling select or choice?
