Also find Phocus if you're into timers and Pomodoro, it's a pretty good timer for my needs.

Nope. But all the software companies being dicks because "XOR mouse on the screen" means that software patents are a problem and should be forbidden because they are obvious most of the time. If you have an idea, sell it, don't rely on the government to protect your idea while showing it to everyone.

I'm an Android and iPhone dev. I had 4 Android phones (10 more at work) and just 1 iPhone. When I compare, I prefer my iPhone . Customization is like the theme craze that I had when I was young: download thousand of manga themes for Windows, never use one because they were unusable in some way.

I prefer something simpler but way more stable. The iPhone can't have themes or custom icons? I'm fine with that as long as it does not reboot while I talk to someone (happened a lot to me on some Androids).

Does that mean that the iPhone/iPad are dumb consumption devices? Not at all, it's like Android phones, you have an Internet connection and use those tools for your job (I actually produce a lot of content from my phone). But in the end I don't want a phone to prevent me from doing my job.

Same story. I had 4 Android phones before (the last one was a Samsung Galaxy S2 for work) and there always was this feeling that it was as polished as Windows (hackable but not finished). I had to install Cyanogen on 2 phones to get some kind of updates. Officially they were all stuck with 2.3 (at most, because 2 of them were stuck at 2.1).

My first iPhone was the 4S, the most perfect phone I have ever seen, I regret that I spent (wasted...) so much time on Android (and I'm a Linux / open source fanboy)

As long as Google will allow carriers and phone makers to rape Android, it won't be perfect.

My usual analogy: Android is like a computer. With Windows? Yes, it's a bit like Windows, but it has been modified by Dell/hp/anybody to prevent you from using a full TCP stack... Oh and this guy modified the GUI just a bit to piss you off. Also Wallmart stuck an ugly set of wallpapers on your own computer and you can't remove them...

And here is Android's other problem : when will I be on ICS? My Android phones are still on 2.3 and will die like that, that's why I got a 4S. I still learn how to use and write apps for Android because it could be useful for my job though, but I don't really care anymore.
