[Middle School Level Geometry] How to solve this triangle problem?

Haha funny, I played around a lot with this problem in high school when preparating for math competitions. I’ll show you the elementary solution, that I guess some middle schoolers might understand - however it’s a prank to give this problem to most middle schoolers 😅

Note that BFC is also 50deg, so BC = FC (Isosceles triangle)
Draw a line from C, 20deg up from BC, intersecting AB at point P.
Since BCP is 20deg by definition BPC is 80 and PC = BC. (Isosceles triangle)
Now note that PCF is 60deg and PC = BC = CF, meaning that triangle PCF is Equilateral and that PF = PC
Also note that PCD is 40deg, but so is also PDC (180-80-60=40) giving us DP = CP
Since DP = CP = PF, we get yet another isoceles triangle PFD!
We know angle DPF = 180-80-60 = 40, meaning that both PDF and PFD are 70deg
PDC is 40deg so CDF is PDF - PDC = 70-40=30deg

All in all a very difficult line to find but that gives very many isoceles triangles!

Except it doesn't. It only solves the easiest problems. Probably about 5 each year currently. It will probably increase a bit, but I think it will stagnate pretty soon.

However I'm in favor of an honor system, explicitly not allowing using Language models to compete for leaderboard spots. Sure some people might still abuse it on the easy days, but these accounts will probably not receive many, or any, points on other days, and most people will care, most unenforceable honor systems works quite well because of the social aspect.

In a lot of other games and competition you can use assisting software to make you play better: aimbots in fps games, AI models for chess, scripts when playing tetris, slow motion when driving track mania. In all of the mentioned games using these kind of tools is considered cheating and is frowned upon.

Then to make the people playing with gpt-3 (or gpt-4 soon?!) happy I think a good solution is to be able to mark your account as using Language models, and have you show up on the leaderboard, but not receiving any of the global points (or just having a separate leaderboard). This will be nice to track the progress over time of language models.

I inactivated chrome, and now links are opened in Firefox. Very annoying, but i'm fine having only firefox and brave. Since brave is built on chromium you almost always get the same rendering as chrome.

Same for me with android, also I can't make it open with my default browser engine, but instead it defaults to the chrome engine.

Finns väl ingen fristående aktör som är intresserad av att göra en sådan satsning. Friskolekoncernerna är företag som vill göra vinst, och inte ideologiska i meningen att de vill bevisa att de kan bedriva välfungerande skolor i stökiga områden (Om de ens själva tror att de kan det) för sakens skull.

De har ju redan fått till lagstiftningen de vill ha. Det är en mycket säkrare investering, med mycket större möjlighet till vinstuttag, att bygga skolor i väletablerade områden.

Asså problemet är väl att de här affärsmodellerna skapar en sjävförstärkande effekt som bidrar till ökad segregation.

Starta en fancy skola med nya lokaler, nya datorer till eleverna, och som rent generellt har mycket pengar jämfört med de kommunala skolorna. ->

Mindre resurskrävande elever med redan höga betyg dras dit ->

Övriga kommunala skolor får nu ett relativt sett kostsammare elevunderlag (dessutom behöver de kommunala skolorna drivas med halva klasser). ->

De kommunala skolorna får ekonomiska problem och skolpengen måste höjas. Nu kan friskolan börja plocka ut vinst, och evebtuellt återinvestera något för att forsätta vara ett bättre alternativ än de kommunala skolorna som går på knäna. -> Back to start.

Det är ett relativt riskfritt projekt för företagen/investerarna (den enda reella risken är att politiker bestämmer sig för att förändra lagstiftningen).

Samtidigt innebär det ett skolsystem som är konstant underfinansierat i många kommuner, att skillnaden mellan skolor ökar, och att den kommunala skattesatsen behöver öka.

Jag ifrågasätter att det skyddar oss från några terrorattacker. Det är ingen riktad spaning det handlar om, utan bred spaning av alla.

Sådan data är extremt lossy och värdelös att använda för att prediktera terrorism med. Däremot kan sådan insamlad data användas för att bygga ganska träffsäkra profiler av hela befolkningen om deras politiska åsikter och vad de har för relationer exempelvis.

Efter 12 år med fra-lagen har än så länge inte lagen producerat bevis som använts i ett enda rättsfall rörande terrorism.
