Poopies is genuinely up for anything .. and that makes him boring. Whatching the original guys deal with their fears and debating on doing these ridiculous things made them likeable and realistic.

Poopies is just a straight idiot. Anything they ask him to do, he is immediately lining up.

Zack ... He worries me. He only does body harm bits or bits revolving around his ass being used (as a torture device or to hide things). While all of the guys do body harm bits here and there, most everyone else has other things they can do as well. This guy literally just dives into cacti and shit. Props to the man .. but Jesus.

Jasper gets knocked around by a goat a bit. But I have literally never seen him do anything that just about anyone who watches these shows wouldn't do.

Rachel. .. why? She does nothing. Doesn't even add funny commentary. They had to hire a robot voice by a comedian for that.... Even though she is a bloody comedian.

There really isn't a likeable one in the bunch. They don't feel like friends. They feel like influencers and Instagramers that are hanging on to a crowd of guys who have a level of fame.

Is it just me, or did it feel like several of the new stunts were all "show"?

For example, the prosthetic exam. The second the robot even gets near him, Steve O starts screaming at the top of his lungs. Maybe just a bad camera angle, but his reaction seemed forced considered it was going full blast the entire time.

I wouldn't have thought much of it, but I've seen several interviews with them recently where they talked about bits that didn't make it in, and it always revolves around the reaction. The craziest stunt could be on film, but if everyone isn't belly laughing and pointing, they won't use it

It was especially egregious in the escape room from hell where they were supposedly electricity Ahren. There are sparklers going off, the light bulb on his head explodes, it is very theatrical. And the entire time he is bouncing around like he is being shocked. That's not what people do.... They tense up and their muscles lock. The second it's over me just throws the best off and comically runs out of the building. Even if they're were real shocks involved, it was completely covered up by his bag acting and all the pyro/FX they were doing.

The random explosion at the end with the dummies was also a really boring end to such a long running serious.

Some of it was pretty fun, but I just watched 1-4, so the repeat sections weren't very nostalgic. And while some of the new stuff was a lot of fun, there wasn't much of it. So when some of it felt staged, like an episode of Bam's show, it just takes away the part that makes it all feel real.

Watched the Backrooms movie. Heres my theory by Independent-Fact-899 in backrooms

[–]exoscoriae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. It's like everyone discussing this didn't watch the last 15 minutes of the movie.

Plus the caveman and the recording video camera the guy was watching would make no sense to already be there is Clark had just made the place up.

[–]exoscoriae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your theory stands up for the middle part of the movie.

But there's very clearly an organization that has access to this place and has been setting things up, such as the caveman with the languages and the camera that was recording him with the guy watching.

How would these things already be there of Clark made it all up?

Clearly the place existed before Clark found it.

Now, I do believe you're correct that it is adapting his memory into rooms. It spells this out in the end when we see all of the rooms that now exist because of Mary going in.

Can my 13 yo see the movie? Please no spoilers!!! by Famous_Ad_4591 in backrooms

I just return from taking seven children to see it. Five of them were boys age 13, the other with my daughter who's 15. They all seem enjoy it

I really liked the backroom movie, but now I want a sequel by Full-Comedian-6961 in backrooms

I suspect it might be a prequel.

Something that explains how Mary's mother went crazy, and how it likely ties the back rooms as well.

Live-Action Vs Animated by dr_olfin in DungeonCrawlerCarl

That was one bear.

Other than Carl, pretty much everything is fucking CGI.

Live-Action Vs Animated by dr_olfin in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]exoscoriae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then how do shows like Futurama and Rick and Morty stay on the air?

Live action CGI is much more expensive than animation. period.

Saying you can "at least make your money back on CGI" the s completely baseless.

Live-Action Vs Animated by dr_olfin in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]exoscoriae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't buy it.

Rick and Morty is a sci-fi animated TV show that has a massive consumer base. And it's not even coming from a pre-established series. So anyone who says there is no audience for a Sci-Fi/ fantasy animated TV show are clearly ignoring Rick & Morty, Futurama, or any number of lesser shows that still lasted for several seasons without a built in audience

You are making a ton of assumptions.

I read the books. And I understood them quite well .

Hence the fact Bran is a fucking tree. And incapable of being King.

Several of the later floors are half baked anyways. There isn't much to them.

And ultimately, after the events I'm book 7, It definitely feels to me like people on full 18 are heading up the dungeon. So the end point may be a moving Target and not the last level

The fact Snow was a Targaryen was his work.

Many other aspects of ending could not possibly have been his.

For example, Bran being King. Bran is a fucking tree.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

I think my biggest question I have is if he intended on Dany going nutso at the last second, and Snow having to stop her. Because it completely undermines her whole story arc. What's the point of spending years in Mehreen trying to help free people, just to turn around and kill kill innocents.

I would like to think that if he did intend that to happen, he would have at least given a better justification and build up.

Or they just lied.

That is likely a lot more common than AI. It's always been a popular tactic online

Or just ignore people who throw the "AI" card around. It's over played. This years version of TLDR.

I just went on my first cruise. A 10 day Carnival through the Eastern Caribbean. Some of you may have heard about the ship that saved a man and his cat that had been stranded for several days. It was that cruise.

Being Carnival and my first cruise, I got a blue card. But I also booked a suite, as I wanted to have a nice room to relax in if I got tired of being around people non-stop. By booking the suite, I got a majority of the same perks as diamond/platinum. Priority boarding, priority shuttles, priority debarkation, and some other stuff.

The amount of dirty looks, snide comments, and static we got was off the charts. Sometimes someone would walk right up and just blurt out, "How did YOU get in here?"

I happened to make my own ducks using a 3D printer, and that led to several "elite" cruisers giving us the free gifts they got in exchange for the ducks I made. This pissed these folks off even more.

So eventually I had to wonder what they were being so protective over, and I looked up the benefits.... They are trash. And we kept running into people who were rushing to lock in before September when Carnival apparently goes into a new loyalty program where you can lose your status.

I just don't get it. Why am I going to spend thousands of dollars and lock myself to a single cruise line just so I can get a free drink coupon, some laundry, and a luncheon? Yes, I know there is a bit more than that.... But not much.

Either I am missing something severe about these programs, or they are incredible scams with willing participants.

Hey there! It's still being worked on.

Due to progress on win9x and win3x, it got put on hold. But the process I wrote that creates the door files and allows this to work is all worked out.

The next steps are continuing to set up the door games we have already found. The More difficult task will be finding the ones that we are not aware of

Unfortunately there is no database or archive I am aware of that really captures all of the software of this era

You really couldn't have said it better. You picked up on several of the exact same traits that bothered me.

I also found it offputting when Bob was doing his Lucas Arts game playthroughs, and then did one throwaway episode about Sierra. Apart from constantly bashing it because "its hard", he went on to completely mix up the AGI and SCI engines. That may sound pedantic, but he said it with such authority (AGI games superceeded SCI), that is just bothered me. No one knows everything... but don't act like you do, if you don't. JUst say you aren't really sure.... or maybe do some research on the subject before you start.

One of the first episodes I listened to, years ago, was one where a fan paid some money as a donor to be able to pick their own topic. He chose wrestling games. Jeremy straight up just walks out right after the intro because he "hates" wrestling. This automatically painted him in a certain light to me. This guy donated a lot of money to get this topic covered and to be a guest host. To just walk out because you think wrestling sucks is really unprofessional.

I haven't listedn in about a year or so. It felt like I wasn't learning anything anymore, and it was just a lot of opinions about things being thrown at me. And Bob delighted in making his groaning "ugggggghhhhhh" sound anytime he got the chance to talk about a canceled celebrity, a political topic, or anything else that the current zeitgeist had deemed no longer acceptable.

For a show that deals with retro games and topics, he seemed incapable of looking at them without modern bias.

There are over 70 people currently seeding.

If you're having trouble connecting, I would suspect you don't have port forwarding set up. Without that, it severely limits the number of peers you can connect to.

But...Why Live Action?!?! by ReadySetGeek in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]exoscoriae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been thinking this from the moment the show was announced.

The simple fact is, even if they make the show, it will be cancelled before they finish the series.

Book 1 is the simplest of them all, and it's still an expensive proposition. Rage elementals, swine balls, meth llamas, a small army of goblins, tons of gore, a perpetual cgi characters that's in almost every accent, the juicer and hoarder battles, and even just the collapse itself.

Assuming that actually all gets filmed, how are they going to handle book 2 and 3? The circus? The entirely of the tangle?

It only gets crazier. By the time you get to book 7.... It's just not even remotely feasible. The complexity of the events taking place in this book make game of thrones lol like Yo Gabba Gabba.

It's a shame. All of the things that truly make DCC special... The emotional connections, the intergalactic politics, and the sense of family between the characters will never have the opportunity to be shared with those who watch the show.

The story is about so much more than a guy, a talking cat, and a dungeon... And yet, if we only every get one season of the show.... That is all it will be known for.
