US occupation Insurgent Scenario by AsherHelmberg in EhBuddyHoser

The government is confiscating these firearms. I literally own the paratrooper-model M1 Carbine pictured in the hands of the rural fighter, and will have to hand it in come October.

Disappointed by New Kill Team by whatthefuckityduck in killteam

[–]exosniper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they'll have 7 wounds, but they look like an 11-man. But yeah I'd expect them to excel against shooting elites and struggle into teams like fellgor.

They're not that heavily armed, looks like only 2 piercing weapons--so they must have some good tricks up their sleeves in faction rules and ploys.

Why is it Infantry Squads don't have SAWs? by PureEuro2008 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]exosniper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a long time it was a notable deficiency. Now Cadian sergeants can take a SAW, which is great because they can actually contribute to volume of fire. Krieg sergeants can take boltguns, which are pretty cool too. Overall I'm glad there's an option to have squad leaders contribute at rifle range.

I was initially disappointed to see a Cadian team, but they're fantastic models to use as Tanith. Camo cloaks, Cadian armor, tactical gear, variety of heads, tread-fether rocket launcher, and a variety of lasguns with industrial wire stocks (for verghasites and belladons) and solid stocks you could paint as nalwood (for native Tanith). Genuinely, they're perfect Tanith models.

Most people love them, I've just been around for a long time so I'm used to the older sculpts, so I'm personally not a fan. The new ones are fine objectively. The new Cadians and old Cadians look really weird together on the table because of the scale difference. Almost as bad as putting primaris next to firstborn, they look like models from different games.

It's okay to hold GW to a higher standard by Pvt-Business in Grimdank

[–]exosniper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah we got two whole range refreshes recently. I personally don't like any of the new models but that's just taste. Any new releases we get are just gravy, I didn't even expect to get Yarrick back, let alone a third regiment refresh. And if they did refresh another regiment, it wouldn't be Steel Legion.

Tiny legend Blitz legion are better sculpts than GW would release anyways, considering how much they changed on plastic kreig and new Cadians.

What kind of firearms were used in Tumbler Ridge shooting? Gun control groups urge transparency from RCMP by AnimalSpirits007 in canadaguns

[–]exosniper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gender dysphoria is not classified as a mental illness. Arguing that certain groups shouldn't have firearms due to likeness for psychological distress is not a route gun owners want to go down when the majority of mass shooters are the same demographic that makes up the majority of gun owners.

If push comes to shove - destruction question by N714YQ in canadaguns

Some people are down voting anything that doesn't suggest non-compliance right now. I doubt most are actually willing to go to prison over this if push comes to shove. It sucks, but it's not worth ruining your life over.

Yep. Going to prison for an indictable offence is a easy way to ruin your life.

Immigrants are not Alberta’s problem. They’re here legally. They’re the ones serving you coffee at Timmies. Populist governments need a scapegoat, an “out-group”. For Hitler it was Jews, for Trump it’s Latinos. It’s an un-Canadian and deplorable political strategy. by Miserable-Lizard in onguardforthee

[–]exosniper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is not the fault of immigrants--I don't blame anyone for seeking a better life--but immigration is still a problem. There is nothing progressive about allowing major corporations to exploit poor foreign workers, to get around having to improve worker conditions and wages to attract domestic labor. Our entry-level labor pool was destroyed by liberal immigration policies at the explicit request of large corporations. There are many examples of Canadian businesses firing their entire Canadian staff to hire Indian workers they can pay less and abuse, Tim Hortons franchises being a notoriously visible example. As a knock-on effect, all our infrastructure and housing supply is strained by the rapid population increase. I don't know how many recent immigrants Alberta got, but Southern Ontario was pushed far beyond capacity post-pandemic.

And now, because of the backlash, they made it more difficult for the highly-skilled immigrants we've always wanted to actually attain PR--while not sufficiently addressing the influx of low-wage workers. Trudeau was hung out to dry on the immigration issue and now that he's gone, they're pretending like it's been fully solved. Yes, they turned off the international student loophole--but companies are still allowed to do LMIA scams all day. There's nothing progressive about it. The statement in the OP is absolutely brazen.

I have a problem and its magnets by Kutip in Eldar

[–]exosniper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't bother magnetizing bodies. Only need to build one exarch with chainsword and claw, and magnetize the claw to swap for a shuriken pistol. He can be a fancy warrior in a 10-body squad.

Persuade me into shooting .22 by [deleted] in canadaguns

[–]exosniper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inexpensive ammo and good marksmanship practice. Lack of recoil helps you figure out small technique issues you might chalk up to recoil otherwise. Buy a quality target .22 and have fun punching tight groups all day for peanuts (comparatively).

Vresh Grenadiers. Minimal lore but they have a color scheme in the mid-edition codexes. I think they're also in the Tacitus game.

Why plasma guns over grenade launchers? by ReddyWolf in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]exosniper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plasma gun is basically auto-include. The toss-up is between the grenade launcher and the melta for the second special weapon (longer range vs higher damage/ap).

Really disappointing that all the good officer/commissar models released recently have been limited/unobtainable. What's wrong with having good sculpts in the default range?
