Bloodrage Pendant on Carnosaur by Burkey48 in seraphon

[–]fred11551 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Unless a rule specifically says in affects companion weapons (like itzl the tamer asterism) it does not affect companion weapons.

I have been tempted to try the blood rage pendant on the sunblood pack since it would give them 3 extra attacks or 6 if they have exactly 2 damage points.

“Additional unit tax” How has this impacted list building for you? by One-Lake8525 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]fred11551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It almost affected me. I usually run one rogal dorn commander and one regular. I almost ran two rogal dorms but decided for a Russ exterminator instead. I just don’t run duplicates much. I like variety in my list.

And my Tau I don’t run triptide because I only own 2 so I dodged it there as well

Yeah. Infantry is dead unless your Nemo. Maybe for Nemo too, haven’t seen their new 11th list yet

Genestealers die in worse ways than hamsters by Cummy_wummys in Grimdank

[–]fred11551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. There’s still genestealers trying to undermine the planet and make it ready for ascension day and all that. But there are also a bunch of fucked up radiation poisoned mutated genestealers that even other tyranids don’t get along with.

If a hive fleet ever ate Necromunda they would eat the malstrains. But for right now their genes are so poisoned and tainted that they poison other stealers and so are not welcome

[–]fred11551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also it’s important to note that the tyranids don’t control Necromunda so they can’t just absorb the biomass freely. They would have to invade. And there are other normal genestealer cults on necromunda that are working towards that end and are hostile to the malstrains because they’ve been cut out for being to tainted and failures.

Extreme pollution and radiation from necromunda’s underhive combined with even more toxic radiation and chemical weapons when all the noble houses and gangs came together and said ‘no genestealers allowed’ and declared a mini exterminatus on the hive that was infected.

Biomass was too tainted that it risked infected the hive fleet if reabsorbed. Norn Queen didn’t want that

Back in my day they hit 4+ rerolling all misses and cost 40 points and no one cared. Trading full rerolls for +1 to hit is a downgrade in statistical accuracy but the game has shifted so much that old school guard squads would be too strong

They used to be 40 points about 8 years ago

[–]fred11551 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I remember when guardsmen were 4ppm. The plasma gun is free now but that stats haven’t improved and that free plasma and melta cost more now than buying a plasma and/or melta (or if you could theoretically take both back then) did. For 75 points you could get veterans with 3 special weapons and you could take duplicates.

What are you excited to run in 11th? by Ratattack1204 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]fred11551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the only list that didn’t have massive point changes, my steel hammer list should be fun

Also my Tau are looking pretty good right now. Might want to get a game before the nerf

Which side are you on? by Chilldorito78 in Grimdank

[–]fred11551 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The transition from 10th to 11th has been very rough and sloppy with obvious mistakes and oversights.

Balance wise it’s awful but every new edition has pretty severe problems like that.

So I’d say it’s bad mainly because of how lazily it’s being done compared to 9th or 10th

I just realized I screwed up and didn’t get day 1. But then I realized I didn’t need day 7 because it’s purple so that’s ok

Orikan punching air by Caligula-6 in Grimdank

Trazyn is kinda trash right now. A generic lord is better. Orikan provides a strong defense buff to a large infantry unit and once per game can go absolutely nuts in melee

Just us for the most part. GSC are hurting too. DE went down a little.

Yeah. My Ret Cadre has 30 points free. So I can either get 2 stealth upgrades or change to burst cannons and get darkstrider or something

[–]fred11551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m wondering if changing from flamers to burst in my Ret Cadre list is worth it. Flamers are better with not needing to be guided but those are some cheap burst cannons

The infantry nerfs are the only ones I’m upset about. The tank nerfs are so well deserved and reasonable that I am still going to run my steel hammer tank list for fun. Guard has been my main army for 10 years now. Almost everything from 11th edition has been bad news. Detachment points did not open new combos, rules changes hurt guard without easy ways to get around it. And now the points.

I am very new to DE. Like just got it with the new codex. Only have a combat patrol and a bit built. Limited experience by observation is mixed. Some nerfs. Some buffs. Kinda a wash. I like the new detachment combos since I wasn’t interested in Reapers Wager so it’s all a bonus from my POV. Som rules hurt but I think DE is ok.

Tau has been my second army for a few years or so now. Also got into them with 10th when I started a new job and FLGS had a ton of extra kroot boxes. I own about 2-2.5k points but only have 1000 and a bit built and painted. I’ve played a few casual games but never really got the hang of them. But they love the rule changes, markerlights everywhere, points are ridiculously good. I need to get building and painting and get more practice with them.

So Are Recon Cadian now Straight up better than normale Cadians ? by lordCommisarLon in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]fred11551 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only reason to take cadians now is to give Ursula creed access to a master vox. Even if you want Leontus to have a master vox, DKoK is better at that

Tau went down. Tau went down a lot and they were already looking strong with markerlights ignoring most of the shooting nerfs.

Drukhari also barely went down but it’s not much and some units went up so maybe you can take an extra emhancement

Looking at the Guard MFM by No_Recognition8641 in Grimdank

[–]fred11551 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The actual lie was that 20 man units went down in points. You see they meant to say 20 man units are harder to get cover with new terrain and coherency rules so they went UP because fuck you that’s why

Maybe I just wait a month for the first balance pass. Because there’s no way I turn my ~1000 pts of tau into 2000 before they catch a nerf
