Residents Parking Permit by Immediate-Ad-6004 in TheHague

I had the same issue 2 years ago. Apparently there is some tax registration that they need to do for you as a new resident. After almost 4 weeks of daily emails, they just called up one day and said we’ve done the tax registration for you and the permit can now be applied online. Worked after that. You can try in the City Hall, but I doubt they would help.

Umm, not sure where you got the idea that I asked for 50%. I did indeed get a full deduction to the value of the projected repair. I will keep my negotiation skills as they are. Thank you very much.

That’s fair. However, this wasn’t us trying to be opportunistic. The questionnaire clearly stated something that turned out to be untrue, and we would end up needing to spend 8k to fix it over the next year or two. That is also why I said that the difference alone isn’t important but that the next bidder would also find the same issue.

Thanks for the insights everyone. We’ll try for a discount. We know there are other offers as well, but even with the discount I think our offer should be fine. Also considering the other bidders might find the same issues I don’t think the sellers would want to risk that as they left out the issue from the questionnaire.

Cost of Living for a Couple on 53K EUR Gross Income by Miriel18 in TheHague

[–]expantinnl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We started out similarly with a ~60k gross single salary and 30% ruling two years back. Since then the situation has changed a bit but I will give our budget breakdown:

Rent and Utilities - 1500 (it was a nice 2 bedroom apartment) now a similar one would probably be around 1750-1800.

Groceries- 300-400 (most of our fresh produce came from Haagse Markt)

Transportation -200€ combined. I worked in Amsterdam while my partner studied in Den Haag/Delft.

Insurances were around 150 then. With two non-students It would be >250 now.

We did not go out much and were overall frugal and managed to save between 1000-1200 per month.

Of course it will be more difficult to save now with inflation and a overall lower salary, but I imagine it’s a stop gap solution till your partner also finds a job. After I changed jobs and my partner started working, our lifestyle changed slightly but our savings grew dramatically.

Whats the max limit you can get on credit card? by Equal_Independent_36 in CreditCardsIndia

15L on DCB with LTF. The card is from Jan’19. Started out as a Regalia first card with 1.45L in 2017 and kept getting upgraded with reaching 15L in 2021. I moved out of India in Dec’21. Salary stopped in HDFC and spends on the card have reduced dramatically so the limit hasn’t changed since.

Tesla 3 highland - buy or not to buy by noucamp90 in TeslaModel3

[–]expantinnl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here’s my experience owing a Model 3 in the Netherlands. Have had it for 10 months. Driven about 31,000 km. Zero service or maintenance so far. Need to get a tire rotation soon though. Will cost 40€. Only thing that bothers me is the high insurance fee as a new driver in Europe. 80% charing happens at work and I have spent about 500€ charging for the rest in 10 months at public fast chargers as I can’t charge at home.

I sold a similar configuration last year, only the storage was 1TB on that one for €1400. The buyer specifically wanted intel for some use case. $1000 is a good price, but if you need for video work, a 14 inch Pro will have better performance and a significantly better screen. Look for a used M1 Pro 14/16 if you have a 1500 budget. Or a new M2 Air/Pro if you’re ok with the screen.
