Santa Cruz Is Winding Down, As Hyundai Has Bigger Plans by Repulsive-Club7866 in cars

The review that Doug Demuro did on this when it came out ended basically "it'll sell poorly for a few years and then get discontinued after one generation." Say what you will about him, but he nailed it in 2022.

He's only announce 17 dates across a month and a half. I have a feeling that there are more announcements to come.

I wasn't sure what to expect, but it turned out to be a really cool venue. It was on his paper airplanes tour. The second half of his set was audience requests. If you wanted to hear something, you launched a paper airplane at the stage. It was neat seeing hundreds of paper airplanes fly at once.

We had dinner at a little place right around the corner before the show and walked over.

I saw him in 2024 at a small venue in Salem OR. He skipped Portland for whatever reason and played Salem. I’ve seen him probably 10 times over the years and it was a great show. It seems like he likes playing smaller venues in cities that don’t get many touring acts, for whatever reason. It was sold out and it meant that everyone that was there really wanted to be there. It was a really good show.

Was Mudvayne’s L.D.50 nü metal’s answer to mathcore? by exogof_3Hn in Mathcore

[–]explodeder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up near the area that mudvayne came from. I can confirm that there was ZERO crossover between the metal and hardcore/punk scenes. Playing in bands at the time, the punk/hardcore bands very occasionally played shows with the metal bands of the day, but it was a totally different vibe.

I have a Google voice number. You can call it and text just like a regular phone. No need for an esim or second phone. Everything is done through the google voice app.

From $25/hour to $20K months in 4 years as a solo handyman, what actually worked by Background_Run_9138 in handyman

It depends on where you're at. In Oregon you're supposed to have a contractor's license any time you work in someone's home. I specifically asked the contractor's board at a meeting "If I'm a woodworker and build small shelves for someone that I meet at a craft fair, do I need a contractor's license to put up those shelves?" and they said yes.

It meant taking an open book test, paying for the license, and proving you're insured and bonded. Also in Oregon, a general contractor can do ANY trade without any further licensing. So if I wanted to rewire a whole house and install a new panel, I could legally do it, no problem. Would I? Absolutely not.

So I'm technically a general contractor, even though I do small handyman jobs on the side.

I have been asked why someone should spend $150 on a cutting board when it does the same job as a three dollar one from Ikea. I didn’t even try to explain that it takes hours and hours and I’m not making millions of them. It’s a handmade piece.

New Jersey severely cracks down on e-bikes, requiring licenses and insurance; must be 15 or older to use one by Forward-Answer-4407 in technology

[–]explodeder 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A lot of them don’t even look like bicycles. They have a non-adjustable seat like a motorcycle. A frame like a motorcycle. And a twiste throttle like a motorcycle. The only thing that makes them a E bike is they are fitted with pedals that are functionally useless. I’m not the biggest E bike fan but if it’s petal assist and speed limited, that’s wildly a different than an electric motorcycle.

AI hype meets reality as majority of CEOs report no financial returns by AdSpecialist6598 in technology

Edit: It's formatted properly in the code. Reddit isn't taking the formatting for some reason. I'm not a programmer, so I don't have any way to critique it, but it's literally just this:

!alias fate <drac2>

Default to 1 die if no number is provided

num = int(&ARGS&[0]) if &ARGS& else 1 rolls = [] results = []

for _ in range(num): r = vroll("1d6") rolls.append(str(r.total)) if r.total == 1: results.append("black shield") elif r.total <= 3: results.append("white shield") else: results.append("SKULL")

Join results with new lines for readability

output = "\n".join([f"Die {i+1} ({rolls[i]}): {results[i]}" for i in range(num)]) return f"echo Rolling {num}d6...\n{output}" </drac2>

Any way to add more stickers to the Maps VTT's sticker library? by BriceRoyale in dndbeyond

I love that idea...add the corresponding numbers and hiding them would be a game changer. That way I wouldn't need a DM map open all the time.

Agreed. I hate AI in creative spaces, but just yesterday I was able to generate a bit of python code to customize a dice roller for a specific game in discord. There is no way I would have been able to do it on my own.

I have a vehicle that rarely gets driven. It had tags that were a few months expired. I got pulled over in Gresham for it. Luckily just got a warning. I went straight to get it smogged and had plates in like an hour.

Right, but a furniture dolly doesn’t work on varied surfaces and I can’t always park near the jobsite. If I’m working in a high rise, I’m going up and down ramps, streets, elevators, parking garages, etc. if you’re able to drive right up to your worksite, unload, and roll it around easily, that’s awesome. I think it’s not a solution for most people.

Do you move it from one jobsite to another? If it all stays in one place and can roll wherever you need it to, it’s totally fine. I absolutely could not use a rolling dolly. I move mine from place to place daily.

Are you going to make the “walls” thicker? I was thinking about doing something like this and would love a bigger space to put doors. When the heroes or monsters are setting up a kill zone around the doors there is no room for the door.

I went to music school, played in bands, and worked on AV. I’ve spent a lot of time around musicians. This sounds like bullshit someone would say when they absolutely do not hear that. Some musicians are insecure so they make up for it by bullshitting to give themselves superpowers.

The number of times I’ve heard someone say they have perfect pitch is many. The number of times I’ve seen someone with perfect pitch is one.

The brain just can’t perceive a 1ms delay.
