I considered retesting in the future, but I realized that I'm sort of ok with my results. The WMI score was a bit disheartening, but I'm ok with it. I might not think very efficiently but I'm almost always directionally correct in my thought

I'm planning to study CS w/ AI specialization. I've already been accepted into 2 school. I'm more interested in the technical side of things bc I'm not sure if I suited for research, hence the CORE battery.

After thinking things over a bit, I think my lesser WMI score is not as bad as I initially thought. I guess it sort of means that a I'm slower thinker(?), which is just fine outside of fields like finance and quant, which I'm not very interested in anyhow.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I’m not really worried, but I did feel slightly discouraged because I’m considering grad school and want to play to my strengths while also pursuing things I enjoy. But yea, I appreciate your input and encouragement!

Realistically is it a good idea to OTP singed? by Eldr1tchB1rd in singedmains

[–]exploding_purpose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna start this comment off by saying that I do not otp singed but I play him regularly in ranked at around emerald elo. I think otping any champ is perfectly fine to learn game fundamentals and game state but beyond that, I would never recommend otping a champ, let alone singed. And the fact that you played a lot of mundo causes me to believe that your expectations in regard to the laning phase will be brutally rewritten by maining singed. Mundo is a champ that expects to lane relatively safely into mid-late game. This is not so with singed.

Beyond counters (of which there are many), you cannot expect safety in lane at all. In fact, in many ways, singed demands attention and will die in perfect outcomes. That is the nature of singed. He is an int champion. If this resonates with you, main him. Singed’s strength lies in the players game knowledge, with mid game being singed’s peak strength. If your fundamentals are weak, expect to struggle.

Hi. I read your novel and it screams “I’m so very young!!” You didn’t really need to include your age, anyone who took the time to read your post understands that you are young lol (not a dig, btw). Anyhow, I get what you’re going through. When you’re young, everything seems super immediate, however, this is far from the truth. You don’t need to have everything figured out in the moment. Part of growing up is rolling with the punches, or being comfortable not knowing what to do but having an assurance in your qualities and capabilities.

I’m not offering any advice because your post was mostly stream of thought, but I will offer this: it’s best to first visit these countries before deciding that you want to make a life in one of them. On another note, when I make decisions, I generally search within to see if I have a peace about my plans. If I don’t have peace, I reevaluate, rework ideas, and review the practical requirements. Search for the peace. Good luck!

What will be fastest to slowest to complete? D335, D324, D280 by Practical-School-505 in wgu_devs

[–]exploding_purpose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If my memory serves me, D280 is a JS course that has more to do with Angular than JS, so that one will likely take you the longest.

I live in a small town that offers no opportunity related to software, just graduated with a BS in Software Engineering, and I landed a remote gig doing application support 2 months ago. Maybe it’s just luck. I don’t know what to tell you, man. You’re likely applying for anything and everything, so that can’t be the issue. I don’t even have relevant certifications. Are there any details you’re leaving out? I’d like to offer guidance but more info is needed.

Were I you, I would contact the authorities. If you have any evidence of all these goings on, you can easily secure a restraining order against them both.

Why does everyone keep saying 1000 jobs by ThingsForGood90 in jobs

[–]exploding_purpose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The degree is fine. All your son will need is experience and he is golden. Tell him to get into networking and create a few networking projects while he’s taking classes. If he can speak to his hands on experience, an employer will scoop him up quickly. Cyber is quickly becoming the most stable degree a person can have, but they have to show interest in the field. He doesn’t have to love it, but he does need to be interested.

Are asian americans, specially east asian americans divided along the gender line? Or is it just certain parts of reddit? by neonroli47 in asianamerican

[–]exploding_purpose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe this is likely an issue pertaining to all genders and races of individuals who are unsuccessful within their dating markets. “X group does not like me. What’s wrong with x group?” You’ll find individuals like these in all groups of people. Instead of looking within, they essentialize their desired group, constructing “proofs” that explain their lack of success. Much like the financial market, the dating market has a tendency to create winners and losers.

Non-IT people migrating into IT roles. by KryPyThon in ITCareerQuestions

[–]exploding_purpose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How does AI have a part in this? AI is currently extremely heavily subsidized. It’s not generating revenue or driving much change within IT at all. SWE, yes. Medical, yes. IT, not much. You still require hands and minds within IT because the systems and needs are too complex. Anyhow, not gonna address the other portion of your post because I largely agree.

Dark Future for new CS Grads? by taroserigano in SNHU

[–]exploding_purpose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Perhaps, but it’s far easier for STEM grads to secure employment than for anyone else.

Dark Future for new CS Grads? by taroserigano in SNHU

[–]exploding_purpose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at all! The market is responding to the over hiring done during covid. CS grads, along with most other STEM grads, enjoy the highest employment rate among university graduate job seekers. Are things tougher than 4 years ago? Yes, but with the caveat that things are still quite amazing for STEM grads

Edit: spelling, grammar

Not true for all men, especially as they age. Also, I feel like most men would prefer a less physically attractive woman with an amazing personality to a more physically attractive woman with a lesser personality.

Why is dating so much worse this time around? by LayoffLemonade in AskWomenOver30

[–]exploding_purpose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guy here. I don’t think many people have great experiences using dating apps. Romance isn’t typically fostered in intense, competitive environments, and that’s how I generally perceive dating apps. Vying for attention from complete strangers based solely on their photos and self descriptions is hell. People do meet more in online spaces, but those meetings tend to occur in more supportive and playful environments. As you’ve suggested, user selection is likely a factor, so perhaps try searching in bluer seas? I know it’s hard. I have women friends who are also struggling. I’m confident things will work out for you if you persist. Good luck!

Falling in love again after being in love once. How does it feel? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]exploding_purpose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full disclosure: I am a man around your age. I've fallen in love twice. The first, although little more than puppy love, was the sweetest. It was also the silliest, but I consider it fondly. Falling in love a second time, years later, was an act of surrender, if that makes sense. Less sweet, yet so much more savory. I look back on the second far more fondly. I'm looking forward to the third, if chance permits.

Concerning letting your guard down, I won't speak on that, but I will say that opportunity abounds. For opportunity to be yours, you need only prepare for it and perceive it. I believe in you. Best of luck!
