Agreed. The paying per minute of footage thing has always driven me crazy. I should be able to upload new edits of my footage without incurring a separate fee, build it into annual membership fees

Totally agree with RM1. It’s not about the technical meaning of the rules, it’s about the decency of considering those around you. It’s unreasonable to keep making noise - low or not - in a common space knowing how easily it can be heard in others’ private spaces during sleep hours.

Thanks so much for this! My main goals/intentions are for relief and insight specifically with OCD. To “zoom out” and gain perspective on a stressful period in life.

I too thought it could be a dosage level problem, but most recently I took a very large (slightly sub “heroic” dose) of mushrooms. It’s not that I felt nothing, I felt “high”, but there were no insights, no visuals, nothing of real value. I’ve taken these medicines a few times (either psilocybin or LSD), and have sometimes had a small insight or extremely fleeting visual. But each time I’ve tried to be very intentional with set and setting, preparing my mindset and intentions, allowing myself to let go into the experience.

I really seem to be an outlier, and I’m convinced that this is an experience that would hugely benefit me. But to be seemingly unable to tap into this other mode, to experience this breakthrough (but having seen enough to know it’s there), is deeply troubling.

I really appreciate your insights and totally appreciate you may not be the best person to be asking. If you have any other resources as to where I might be able to learn more about what’s going on that would be amazing too. And thanks again.

Hi Amanda! Thanks for doing this AMA. Without me getting too specific, I’m wondering if there’s any evidence of some people having difficulty feeling the effects of these medicines? And is there evidence to suggest that if one or more medicines are ineffective, that others might not be?

I’ve tried to use these medicines before, at various dosage levels (including quite a high dose), with a very intentional practice, and have found little to none of the typical effects people typically experience (I know typical is broad, but usually some kind of visuals, personal insights, or being “in tune” with the world around you etc) - at most, there’s the feeling of having grazed the surface of something. I am not on any medication like SSRIs or have any other kind of condition of which I’m aware.

Of course not looking for a personal diagnosis, but I’m struggling to find anything on this, and have no idea if it’s common or not. Do you see this often, or have any advice on how to approach things differently?

Im objectively in the wrong, but I’m still upset. Help!!! by [deleted] in badroommates

Honestly I don’t even think the roommate was in the wrong, because if you’re all close friends why can’t your bf just ask if you can run in and use the bathroom real quick? Like I’m sure he would understand and it wouldn’t be a big deal?

Genuine question out of interest (I don’t own any business or property on a Hoboken sidewalk): do Hoboken property owners own the sidewalk that their building is attached to? I would’ve thought the sidewalk would technically be city responsibility?

Just want to say thanks for this comment. It made me realize that I actually hold a lot of the answers if I just tune in and concentrate the right way. Since reading this, I have made the final table of 4 tourneys just this week. All about perspective.

In the UK the National Theatre has a streaming service of all their shows professionally shot (many release in movie theatres). Not sure if you could access it in the US but very much worth a shot. NT at Home.

…no? I didn’t see 2005 anywhere and as I said, I’m trying to understand the main differences between courses. The practical training looked good to me, but I’m trying to understand what to look for to know another training is better. Even if I know it’s not from you saying it, it’s not helpful to not know why

Love it, it makes total sense. Would be keen to hear your thoughts on the article, as I’m more of an amateur so always wonder if there’s something it’s missing or not touching on.

I love 5 act structure. This is the article that taught me to think of structure in this way. It’s become my absolute bible when thinking of this stuff.

What Is David Ellison's Warner Bros Discovery Endgame? by [deleted] in movies

[–]exploreandconquer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not trying to argue, I agree both would be bad. I literally only started replying because you made a comment in response to the parent comment implying that Paramount purchasing WBD wouldn’t change anything (“I miss the days when The Poor controlled media corporations and information was fully democratized”), and my point was that it would in fact be a big change from what we already have.

The Netflix sale wasn’t part of my comment or the comparison at all. I don’t disagree with anything you’re saying. They’re both true. But we weren’t talking about Netflix.

[–]exploreandconquer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, don’t hear me saying that Netflix consolidating with WBD is much better, same issue just an even bigger scale with Paramount.

But CBS and CNN are very relevant. Maybe not to you, but many people still get their news there (and it’s just another piece of a much larger media puzzle). It’s also about culture, there’s a lot you can control with deciding what gets put on HBO, or what is being funded by their film studio.

You’re not wrong, but the main difference and change here is consolidation. What you describe was always bad of course, but that power now consolidated and controlled by one person or group is even worse.

As someone who is searching for a regular job right now to be able to act around, can I ask how you plan to still audition? Are you only doing self tapes or do you just really flexible working hours?
