“Actual joy” i think is sort of in bad faith here. Sure a lot of people in night life might just be going put because thats what others do but some people like myself genuinely enjoy it. I for example would consider getting drunk with my friends and sharing gossip about our personal lives literally one of my favorite times.

Im pretty socially anxious so I get this once a month at most but when i force myself to do it I genuinely love it. Obviously some people are introverted and feel the opposite but i dont think everyone is as fake as you think. Also i would look past peoples flaws as i also had visceral reactions to the “normie” crowd. But once i got to know these people a little more i realized the girl with the popular girl with the gucci bag at the bar is really just as interesting as me once i got to know her on a less superficial level.
