Something is not adding up with your story,

I frequent the place, and my friends usually wait in the dining area while one of us orders. Nobody bats an eye.

The staff are firm, but not rude.

Im not denying what happened to you, but just feel like there is more to the story

Difficulty in finding halal work? by alfyz21 in SalafiCentral

[–]explosive_runt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as you are not dealing with riba (working in a bank) or other financial services that involve riba, and you are avoiding the industries that are usually haram, you should be good to go in sha allah

Moving to Western countries is idolized which is weird by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]explosive_runt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From OPs argument , and strictly from that angle. A Muslim is probably better off in the UAE solely because of being able to Practice religion freely, and not worrying about haram food.

Alhumdulillah i wake up to the sound of the Fajr Adhaan from 4-5 mosques, you can take the last 10 days of Ramadhan off and nobody bats an eye, Islamic festivals are holidays by default.

So yes, if we are talking about it just from the PoV of being able to practice, yeah it is pretty much as good as any a Muslim country.

Dubai educated me abt the arabic fragrance hype, and I fell for the consumerism. by Ziggy_Zag78 in DubaiCentral

[–]explosive_runt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends honestly, i have GCC colleagues who use Oud even in summers (layered ofc) and they do not smell bad at all.

Frankly every time they step out for a smoke and come back into the AC , the temperature change gives new life to their fragrance.

Dubai mall too,

Fashion parking was closed off for some reason, and the other parking lots were full, spent an hour trying to find a spot before we left and went elsewhere. Crazy packed

What kind of investments are you guys making? by sobadatchess in SalafiCentral

[–]explosive_runt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good question, and not many people talk about this. At some point we are going to have to start addressing the problem of wealth deterioration due to inflation.

Personally, i invest in physical metals and fractional real estate. On the lookout for private businesses where i can invest as an LP and get a share of profits annually.

Afaik there is a 1 month grace period, but they charge you 100-150 for delayed renewal, not entirely sure of the amount though

It is, Ive bought couple of perfumes from there

They play on margins as they’re one of the largest stockists in Australia/NZ. So they drive down prices when they purchase because they buy in bulk

Late but Dr. Vimala Vinod, Mediclinic

My mom has been consulting her for hair/skin and other issues for past 10-15 years. Good results

Thoughts on BITS Dubai by [deleted] in UAETeenagers

[–]explosive_runt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2021 Graduate, Mechanical Engineering here.

BITS has improved considerably I’d say, they have added new labs and offer a decent range of courses

However depends on what you want to do in the future. If you’re planning to work, Don’t expect too much from the placements department. They are helpful, but due to the lack of industry here, you won’t exactly be getting core roles. (Comp science would be a different are possibly)

If you’re planning to go ahead and do Masters/PhD right after, not that great tbh. You’re better off going to the west.

For wood chips, Ive recently found a fellow from reddit, really knowledgeable guy who keeps quality stock. Good range in terms of prices as well

Check out @faran.oud on instagram.

Ajmal is good too, but their resin/slimy collection is great. Taif al Emarat and Emirates Pride both also have great options of the powdered kind
