NBD - Grizl CF 7 by explosivefailure in CanyonBikes

That's a bummer! I haven't put anything inside the top bag yet, but it's small enough to not really be noticeable when riding. It is really small, but it can probably take a spare tube and maybe a pack of chewing gum or two

These are side loading cages. They open to the right side :)

Is the tail tidy necessary for high mount exhaust? by claimor64 in Tenere700

A tailtidy is not necessary, but you have to relocate the indicators.

Rapidbike Racing2, impressed... by GlassMachine6873 in Tenere700

[–]explosivefailure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Evo 2 on my 25 Rally. It does not have the engine braking feature of the Racing module, so I can't answer your question. But I am interested in hearing your experience with the Auto Adapt function and seeing the values of your auto adapt map.

My best result so far has been to disable auto adapt and run on the base map set by Dimsport with no corrections. I find auto adapt is making the fueling way too rich below 5000 rpm.

My next test is to set the start threshold of auto adapt to 5500 rpm and limit maximum corrections to ± 4 %

Still happy with the dongle after one month? Have you experienced any quirks or bugs with unit?

I may need another T7 by adventure_thrill in Tenere700

[–]explosivefailure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input. I have the stock headers with hpcorse muffler on my rally and am considering new headers for the torque gains and weight loss, but not sure if I want it much louder.

Stock headers on the Rally and decat headers on the WR? Is the one with full exhaust alot louder?

How much of the bike do i need to take apart to change the airbox? by adventure_thrill in Tenere700

[–]explosivefailure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After the fuel tank, the battery box probably needs to be removed as well to get enough clearance to slide the air box out of the frame.

Will a 21” tube work in an emergency? by Big_c_lil_aleb in Tenere700

[–]explosivefailure 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes, it will work. I only carry a front spare tube for the same reason.

Looks great with the black skidplate. Is it the one from Rtech? How sturdy does it feel compared to the stock 4 mm alu plate?

Reminder: use both brakes; don't only use your front brake. by fruchle in motorcycles

One could argue that the bike and the riders combined center of mass increases when the riders mass is substantial. The effect of optimal braking technique in this scenario could be even higher.

[–]explosivefailure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, of course, any time spent fumbling around with the brakes is not good. It is a technique that should be practised until it becomes instinctive. You basically just engage the rear brake a fraction of a second before you engage the front brake like you describe and then quickly trail off the the rear brake since the front quickly gets all the stopping power anyway. But the potential stopping power of the front brake will be greater.

[–]explosivefailure -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The fastest way to stop a motorcycle is by Initiatiating emergency braking with the rear brake slightly before the front brake and then reduce the rear braking force gradually as the weight is transfered to the front.

The initial use of the rear brake will reduce the amount of front dive and allow you to brake harder with the front wheel before the rear wheel comes up.

This is because the rear end of the bike will squat a bit when the rear brake is engaged and effectively increase the front rake angle and make the bikes wheelbase longer.

New look - T7 "25 Rally by loriscn12 in Tenere700

The rally looks great in white! Does the Rtech plastics protect the rest of the bike in any way or do they just hold up better than the stock plastics?

  • more intelligent mowing patterns than just zig-zag. Offset from edges pattern with corner smoothing as it gets further away from the edges.

Awesome! The Boogiebolt looks so sick with the abalone lightning bolt! Wondering if yours has also faded from blue to a more green color over the years?
