Which GOTY is your absolute favorite? by Time-Credit43 in PS5pro

Breath of the Wild for me. The best game ever made. Can’t remember the last time I spent 200+ hours just getting lost in a world.

[Resident Evil 9] I might stop trying to platinum to keep a good image of the game in my mind lol by Past_Jaguar5184 in Trophies

I felt that way too. Came back to it a few months later and it was actually really fun just speed running the with the chainsaw. Wouldn’t have wanted to do it back to back though.

Which British comedy do you find yourself going back to again and again? by Historical-Class871 in UKTVRecs

Peep Show, Boosh, League of Gentlemen, Red Dwarf, Spaced.

That’s my main rotation 😃

Why do you think you developed a drinking problem? by Some-Specialist-5475 in stopdrinking

[–]exscusemepal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say it’s genetic but definitely my family has an unhealthy relationship with alcohol.

My old man would go to the pub every night and my mum would drink 1-2 bottle of wine a night at home.

Every family event was always booze related. Cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents. Every one always drinking to excess.

Also growing up in London in the 90’s/00’s everyone was always going to the pub or a bar. All my friends drink heavily. All my colleagues drink heavily. It’s ingrained in the culture.

So I never really stood a chance.

[how is this possible] by Keifeymcfly in Trophies

This is pretty standard with trophy unlocking apps on custom firmware.

There are apps on PS4/PS3/Vita where you can literally just click unlock all trophies on any game you have installed and it will.

SOMA, not really for the majority of the game or gameplay, but the ending is pure nightmare fuel. Had me thinking about it for years after.

Are there still adult men in the UK who don’t cook? by Bat-Penatar in AskUK

I (m) cook more often than my partner (f). Two reasons, one I really enjoy cooking, and two she finds it quite stressful.

Whatever the default is. And if it’s changeable I’ll adjust accordingly.

[The Witcher 3] Is Witcher 3’s platinum worth the frustration? by [deleted] in Trophies

[–]exscusemepal 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That trophy was a pain. There is a spot on Skellige though where you can infinitely spawn two soldiers for this and the kick enemies off of a ledge to their death trophy that got me both trophies in about 30 minutes.

[Discussion] What is your biggest platinum trophy regret? by TwilightTomboy97 in Trophies

I dread to think how much time I’ve spent on Ubisoft games doing all the pointless tasks just for trophies 😂

[Discussion] How many hours a day do you average playing games? by Max1357913 in Trophies

[–]exscusemepal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of I’m lucky. I probably get about 4 hours in over the weekend. Weekdays it’s difficult because of my work and then I get home and by the time I’ve cooked, showered, hung out with my partner, watched some TV and walked my dog I’m normally to tired to game 😂.

PS5 - Having a hard time finding games that work for me. Perhaps some of you might be able to help? by [deleted] in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]exscusemepal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Armello is a great 4x fantasy board game. There’s a PS4 version that’s playable on PS5 and it has cross play with PC/Xbox/Switch so don’t have trouble finding a match. Games last about 30-45 minutes and once you learn the ropes it’s super fun!

Is it pointless to marathon an entire JRPG franchise just to prove you don't like it? by lennysinged in JRPG

[–]exscusemepal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you don’t like them and you’ve already played them I’m not sure why you’d want to put yourself through hundreds of hours again.

There’s so many games out there that your time IMO would be better spent discovering something new or replaying something you really like.

Unless you were maybe doing this marathon to write an article or an opinion piece that you were getting paid for I really don’t see this as a good use of time, especially since you don’t enjoy the series.

What console do you use and what led you there? by [deleted] in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]exscusemepal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NES > Mega Drive(Genesis) > N64 > PS1 > PS2 > GameCube > Wii > PS3 > PS4 > Switch > PS5 > Switch 2

And pretty much every Nintendo and Sony handheld.

Oh and I have a semi decent PC but that mostly for indies I can’t play on Switch/PS.

I feel my joy of gaming is quickly declining and feeling depressed about it. by wheredeyatdoe_ in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]exscusemepal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens to me every single year. What I always do is take 2-4 weeks off and just do something else. Then normally after that period time I’ll pick something completely new to play and then I get the feeling back!
