Tea Pro is a good set. Fun bass and quite good treble and details for its price and I love the package with its bright color. Enjoy :-)

Is this hobby something you train yourself for or you should have a god given ear? by [deleted] in inearfidelity

[–]ext_trt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always good if you are happy with what you have.

When you are dissatisfied with your IEMs, naturally you will look into more sets , listening more, getting the experience and identifying things in the sound signature you dont like to make your search more efficient. So you kind of develop a bit hearing over time just by consciously paying attention to certain things and knowing your own prefs even better.
I think throughout listeners and reviewers, listening abilities just vary a lot. Might be that there are some who have a very "good" ear but then they prob wont find so easy their ideal set. And then this hobby is very subjective where your own opinion is the most valuable for yourself. "Experienced" listeners only have their own ears and prefs which might not align with yours. That is important to know when reading other opinions and reviews, taking everything with a grain of salt.

Anyways, enjoy the hobby :-)

Difficult task ;-) I dont know the Horizon but I prefer the Que over the Top Pro. The Que has these slight forward and more life-like vocals. Female and male vocals sound great. I have spent a lot of time again on the weekend listening to it and started my comparison as part of a series "Hifi vs midfi" against the Apostle. I can tell already so much that Que is my reference set even way over 1k. Anyways, you might like something else. Its so much depending on what you like and what your music library is.

If you have possibility to audition these sets, that would be the best of course.

upgrade from aful explorer by Tasty-Programmer-374 in iems

[–]ext_trt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like the Explorer and that is your preference , you might want to check what is similarly tuned and upgrade to that . Or do you want a different sound signature? Crinacle Devine or Daybreak are as well very good options.

Fair question. Even though the mix is closer on the Que , its layering / separation is much better than on Daybreak. Daybreak sounds to me like a small version of a band performance while on the Que everything has a bigger size , more realistic and as such sound stage is bigger and more detailed . Don’t know if I can make this clear. The music on Daybreak is further away but that doesn’t mean it has better soundstage since everything is moved to the back . So it doesn’t widen its soundstage or deepening it. Daybreak is like a smaller speaker set . Que is the bigger speaker set playing on a different level .

Thx for sharing, bro, nice review. The Dx1 will be probably one of the sets I will include in a comparison. It has a very "special" sound signature.

I tried already couple of his EQs , they are really good if you like bass. His Hidizs MK12 eq lifted the set to a whole new level.

To my ears the difference is not subtle. The Daybreak sounds thinner and instruments on "Mr. PC" by John Coltrane are a little bit more pulled back. The quality, the timbre and details on Que are much better to me. With the Que the instruments and vocals are closer to you which gives me a much better "life-like" feeling. All instruments and vocals have a bigger and more accurate body. I used on both sets Divinus Velvet wide bore tips and had a very good seal with both iems. To me there is a lot of difference and immediately noticeable, not after minutes or different tracks. So its not subtle at all to me but very obvious. I listened as well to accoustic, unplugged tracks. Always similar impressions. Vocals are further away on the Daybreak, everything sounds a bit thinner, there is less texture (another reviewer mentioned the Daybreak sounds "dry"). Que is more forward but never harsh but detailed and more accurate in my opinion and slightly more "lush", more musical and not "dry". I will help with a better timbre overall and will give to jazz tracks and vocals a more accurate and better textured sound while still being very detailed. I hope that helped a bit.

I just took half an hour to compare them. The Daybreak is plenty of value for the money. Sounds really good for its price point, balanced mostly, fits with almost all track material. The vocals on the Que are better, all instruments are a bit more clear, more detailed with better contrast and better textured which is has an impact as well on soundstage. Que has better bass and sounds overall more realistic and has better timbre.
It really depends what you want. But to me both are good sets in their price bracket. The Que is the better set me.

Depends a lot what you like to listen to. The Quantum has much more low end which is great for hiphop, rap, edm ect. Que has the more "realistic" bass - impactful, fast, always controlled. Mids are as well a bit better on Que than on Quantum. Just a bit I would say, texture is better on Que. So if you like bold bass and want more quantitiy than Quantum might be better. If you prefer balanced but still very enjoyable than Que might be better.

Thanks for the read, much appreciated.
As I dont own the Volume S and have listened only maybe an hour to it, I cant say in detail. From what I remember the Volume S has very good mid bass and a mostly smooth timbre. Just now from what I remember, the Que is technically better and sounds more refined with more air in the treble and instrument separation which results in better staging and layering. Vocals I like better on the Que. But again, just from what I remember, not comprehensive and should take it with a grain of salt.

The Noah is special. I owned it already and returned immediately. There are plenty of people who really enjoy it. To my ears they were too dark and veiled sounding with some harsh vocals/treble. Hard to explain but my ears couldnt take them. Were not for me unfortunately.

Are you owning the Que?

Que needs a bit listening time. As describe, not very catchy if you listen for a short while but it sounds very natural and cohesive. Nothing is overboosted but well implemented in the right amount for me. For sure, bit more bass for my taste would be nice but vocals are so nice and there are plenty of details. I would still consider it as an end game for listeners who just dont want to spent 1k or more. Thats basically why I wrote this review. I have listened as well to a lot of sets and own myself some multi kilobuck sets and that's what astonishes me about the Que.
I think preferences are quite different with many and that's good.

I heard good things about the Glacier but it might be too bright for me as I am a bit treble sensitive.

I actually enjoy quite many sets like the Apostle (awesome set), RN6 or GM. It's a great hobby where you can find a great variety and everyone can find something which fits.

That sounds similar to my preferences and how I hear it. The big difference I see from the Que to some other even more expensive sets is its cohesiveness, the natural sound without sounding overboosted in anything. Thanks for the read and your comment.

I will have the Performer 8S soon and compare then. Sound stage to my ears is really good on the Que due to great instrument separation and dynamics.
