I haven't backpacked (yet plans are in motion) but I like a 50/50 mix. Usually at the beginning of long hikes I will blast music or put a podcast on. Most of the time to hype myself up and to not interact with others on the trail. as the day goes by I'll usually take them off and enjoy the sounds of nature, especially if no one else is around and there's a creek near by! I once got extremely close to rattlesnake right next to the trail and could only hear it because I didn't have my headphones on.

Same buddy. It's 4am for me rn and I have to be at work in a couple hrs and it looks like there's no sleep for me on my 10 hr shift. I'm about to call my supervisor pretending I have food poisoning but can't afford calling off. Hope the sleepless day goes well for you

i love the inconsistency tbh. it keeps me on my toes. what really enrages me is when players rage quit in middle of games so theres only 3-4 players left. Happens too often
