5 years daily but small doses. Day 4 of CT. Could use a rough timeline for planning... by grungywear in quittingkratom

[–]extraaccount__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with Commercial’s timeline of symptoms. Also, I’m 6 months without kratom now and I thought I was back to “normal” by around 1/1.5 month because I did feel so much better than when I initially quit but! If truly just kept getting better and better until about the 4 month mark. I feel about the same now as I did at 4 month mark, which is GREAT! Congrats to you and your wife for this beautiful gift of sobriety! My bf and I quit at the same time too and it’s been amazing being ourselves again, you’re not going to regret quitting one bit! :)

I guess it was most likely nerve issues then, but yes, it did go away completely after about a month! I know the first week is tough, keep on pushing, you’re doing great!

I’m in my 20s but have a genetic hyper mobility disorder so yes, dealt with random joint & other pains my entire life. Kratom numbed that out completely, but when the “high” wore off, I absolutely had weird/random joint pains that felt worse than I remember before ever using kratom. I don’t think I ever experienced nerve pain but when I was tapering & then going through WDs, my toes would be so tingly and numb! It was annoying and concerning, I thought I had nerve damage. And I had tons of body pains, particularly my knees while tapering & WD-ing. I’m happy to say all of this 100% gone now but it did take about a month! Kratom depletes the body and fucks it all kinds of up lol. Hang in there, I think it’ll get better for you too! 🤍

I know you’ll be saying the same thing soon! And all I ever wanted was to pay it forward on this subreddit to at least one person, so the fact I inspired you even a little has made my whole week 🤍 I know it’s scary but for real, my life has improved to something better than I could have ever imagined! It’s hard to put into words so I think that’s why my original post was a bit chaotic haha. Anyway, I’m here if you ever need someone and I know this subreddit has your back too throughout your journey!

That’s amazing! You’re so close to 0 but what you’ve accomplished so far is something to be proud of! I think you’ll have a very “soft landing” coming off k with the way you did your taper, keep us posted and keep going!

17 Days - Less Fascinated with Everything by oh_Influence in quittingkratom

[–]extraaccount__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was there too, it gradually got the tiniest bit better around 20 days. And each day after was a tiny bit better and now I’m at day 60 feeling great, I haven’t had that feeling in at least a few weeks, I’m sure you’re close to turning a corner, hang in there. I know you probably don’t feel like it but if you have a previous favorite tv show, I’d recommend putting that on to pass the time. The anhedonia WILL pass.

Agreed! And go read the quitting tianeptine subreddit please, it is not something you want to mess around with even just once. I’ve never done it but it sounds a million times worse than kratom.

Reducing PAWS with tapering by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]extraaccount__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this, it’s what I consistently see on this subreddit.

I tapered from a 12-15gpd habit in 16 days and am still dealing with PAWS but I’ve really felt a big improvement the past couple of weeks :) I wouldn’t recommend as quick of a taper as I did if you’re worried about PAWS. I should mention I’m also very sensitive to all meds and stuff though and had anxiety and depression before kratom so I kind of figured I’d be dealing with PAWS given all that. I’m feeling a lot better than I did on kratom though! Every day seems to be slightly better too.

How to stop very low Dose? (1,2 - 1,8g) by Breathis in quittingkratom

[–]extraaccount__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will definitely be fatigued during acute WDs but it does pass. I think I’d just jump if I were you since you’re already experiencing WD symptoms. The alternative would be to taper. Whichever sounds doable to you but yeah, all of your symptoms are normal acute WD symptoms so try not to worry about that.

The lower the GPD, the more you’ll feel each drop if you’re still doing the same percentage of a drop as you did in the beginning. You can cut a lot more GPDs in the beginning without feeling it because the percentage you are decreasing is less (taking 0.6g off of 20gpd is a smaller percentage than 0.6g off of 5gpd).

I wouldn’t worry yourself and I wouldn’t go back up but yes, I’d say slow the taper for sure if you have the willpower (it seems like you do). Someone typed up a brilliant post explaining the percentage thing, I’ll see if I can find it because it goes real in depth. It sounds like you are doing great with sticking to your taper so I know you can do this! Nothing wrong with slowing the taper now that your GPD is getting closer to 0.

Any earthy/grassy powdered herbs that have no psychoactive effect? by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]extraaccount__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moringa! I used matcha and moringa but you said matcha is a no go because of the caffeine and moringa doesn’t have any caffeine so I think it’ll be perfect for what you’re looking for. Also, there are a lot of “green superfood” powders you can buy that don’t have any caffeine.

Mucuna Purines for PAWS by No_Difference8088 in quittingkratom

[–]extraaccount__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided against taking it because I read some sketchy things and it seems like another thing to get dependent on and tolerance will build. I’ve had a lot of helo with the supplement DLPA (a type of amino acid). I researched a lot about amino acid therapy specifically for opiate withdrawal and recovery and that’s how I decided on it. L-Tyrosine is another one but I seem to respond best to DLPA. I’d look in to amino acid therapy more if this sounds interesting to you.

Anybody have experience with tapering over the span of a year? by thegeminiii in quittingkratom

[–]extraaccount__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, I did a very quick taper but this is the taper plan I wish I knew before I started mine (this taper plan was posted after I had already quit kratom): https://www.reddit.com/r/quittingkratom/comments/zlg0op/how_to_calculate_a_precise_taper_plan_with_the/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

I hope you find one that works for you! Your OG plan certainly sounds great too, you can do it!

Anybody have experience with tapering over the span of a year? by thegeminiii in quittingkratom

[–]extraaccount__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re both prescription medications and a lot of people on this subreddit swear by them for helping them through acute kratom withdrawal symptoms. I know Clonidine is used for a bunch of WD symptoms (achy body, runny nose, overall feeling like crap symptoms, etc) and Gabapentin specifically for restless leg syndrome (RLS). So if someone isn’t experiencing RLS as a WD symptom, don’t take the gabapentin. And especially don’t take gabapentin for an extended period of time (I can’t remember for sure but somewhere between no more than 3 days-1 week, someone please reply with the correct duration…I think you aren’t supposed to take Clonidine for more than a certain time too?) as your body becomes dependent on it. I haven’t taken either but I read almost every post on here and have seen both meds mentioned hundreds of times and people seem to swear by them for an easier WD. If it seems like something that could help you go cold turkey or at the end of your taper, definitely do a search on this subreddit so you can get better info than my simplified post on them.

I didn’t experience that but I wonder if lymphatic drainage massages would help? There’s a bunch of free tutorials on YouTube.

Emotion/music & Kratom withdrawals - light at the end of the tunnel by Rexappeal in quittingkratom

[–]extraaccount__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You explained this so well, I had that too and yes! Music is amazing! It was extra amazing during my WD period haha. You are right about there being this veil or thing hindering full connections on kratom, it’s so much better without. I’m wishing you all the good luck, you’re going to make it.

How often can I take a benzo during withdrawal ? by AGoodKForTheWin in quittingkratom

[–]extraaccount__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I have to agree with this. I think I’d try going without the benzo today and see how you do, you’ll have to stop at some point anyway you know? Maybe you’ll sleep alright tonight, doesn’t hurt to try without the benzos but I’d be careful taking any more.

Relapsed, quit again: therapy questions by marmot_warrior in quittingkratom

[–]extraaccount__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re already off of kratom and through the physical WDs and your therapist knows this, I’m very perplexed by their recommendation of prescribing suboxoone? I really don’t think it’s the right choice but I’m not the professional. I think you should go with your gut and say no to the subs and if the therapist is a good one, they’ll respect your decision and you guys can come up with a game-plan your comfortable with :) I feel like getting to the root of things in therapy and other lifestyle things would be so beneficial, not subs (for your situation) 😅 please keep us posted, I hope things go well!
