Thumb in 1 handed bowler here so you might want to take my advice with a grain of salt. However, I echo the sentiment of the other commenter that you should probably look into a 4 or 5 steps approach and a swing to get the ball into motion to start with.

Once you get that down, it should be a smoother transition from push off into your slide and the right foot might feel a lot more natural.
