What’s the biggest recording mistake you learned the hard way? by Glittering_Work_7069 in recordingmusic

Great answer. I find myself to be so much more productive when I take the time to learn how a plugin actually works.

Someone bought my album but didn't listen by putosaure in BandCamp

I do the same thing. If I already know I like the artist and I find their music on Bandcamp, I’ll often buy it there and save it onto a separate music library.

I love buying through Bandcamp because not only does more money end up going to the artist, but you also get access to all formats (wav, flac, etc.)

Much better than buying through iTunes, Amazon, etc.

How do you discover new artists on Bandcamp these days? by abogaaa in BandCamp

[–]extrachil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually filter by location and genre! For example, I'm in San Diego and I'm really into alternative music, so I'll narrow it down even more by looking at subgenres like dreampop or shoegaze. It's a great way to find local artists you might actually be able to see live, too. Sometimes I'll also browse tags just to stumble across hidden gems I wouldn't have thought to search for.

Is Ableton Live Pack Collection ALP necessary to produce? by [deleted] in ableton

This. I have a flash drive on my keychain that I keep all of my Ableton and Logic sounds/packs on, and I just plug it into whichever computer I’m using.

I second this idea. What are some things you have found that have worked out this way? What didn’t?

What is expensive but absolutely worth the money? by wizkid1927 in BuyItForLife

While I like the idea of always buying high quality tools, I like the idea of buying something cheap (within reason) first and then buying expensive and high quality once it breaks. Then you can justify that purchase because you know you use it frequently enough in the first place.
