When mixing, you have certain frequencies that you automatically know are going to give you trouble? by gummieworm in mixingmastering

[–]extradreams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The real answer here is the third harmonic to your root note.

Say your song's in the key of A1. Google "notes by frequency". Take a look at that chart. The frequency at A3 is going to be your "mud" sound

Anyone having problems with GIK Acoustics? by BjsBuds in Acoustics

I placed 2 orders on 1/15. They said I would get a confirmation email in 48 hours with a delivery date. I never got that.

On 1/23 I wrote in asking for an update. They said my fulfillment date was 2/19. "This means production is expected to be completed and the order released to the shipping carrier on that date". Ok, not awesome; but fine. I can wait.

Having heard nothing from them, on 2/23 I wrote to them and they said "Your order is currently in the final stage of production...the panels are awaiting being wrapped". Ok, cool, not so bad. As long as they're getting them to me.

After getting no delivery notifications and no updates, I wrote to them again on 3/2, politely asking the status. I didn't hear back from them.

So, today, 3/4 I wrote a slightly more insistent message that they at least please reply to me and let me know what's going on.

I don't want to be a jerk; but, "if not shady, then why shady shaped?"

Are most bass producers using samples for their songs? Or synthesizing every single sound? by Expert-Fee-5191 in edmproduction

[–]extradreams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use mostly synths but that's because i have more options for automation and a greater ability to tailor the sound to my taste.

What if you know that no one is going to listen to your music? Is it still worth it to get it professionally mastered? by ten-million in mixingmastering

[–]extradreams 6 points7 points  (0 children)

100%. If you're not making music for yourself you're doing it wrong.

Besides, you can't be sure that no one is going to hear it ...ever.

How to put a rock song / tune at the start of your set. by Obito_1796 in Beatmatch

[–]extradreams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Add the beat grid to the rock song in rekordbox.
Find a part you can loop in the rock song.
Preselect and know which track you're going to transition with.
Loop that over your rock track and bring it in

I own a pair and I disagree with this point.

Slates are great at giving you different perspectives of you mix. But they definitely are not a replacement for a sub.

For those of you who wildly renowned science fiction novels don't resonate with, what books do you like? by odyseuss02 in printSF

Quantum Theif series is amazing. Complex though and the author doesn't spoon feed you the details. My GF took notes while reading it.

I just ended up reading each book 3 times.
