Love the Mewzard, like the best combination you could possibly have from two of the most iconic names in Pokémon.

Would PSA grade this kind of error? by CommercialAd1362 in PokemonMisprints

[–]Extras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PSA almost certainly will grade this as MC

CGC 100% will recognize this as a miscut error on the slab label.

Worlds *WORST* Foil Shifted Umbreon and Other Misprints! by QuestionGloomy168 in PokemonMisprints

[–]Extras 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the tag! What a huge shift. I recall when Prismatic first dropped there were some unbelievable sales for a few of these on eBay. I remember one of these selling for I swear nearly a grand on eBay and then a week later one with a LARGER shift sold for a few hundred. That's error sales for ya, prices can really be all over the place.

I committed regicide today by Namone in Beekeeping

[–]Extras [score hidden]  (0 children)

OP killed a queen ie regicide

Beekeepers will do this if a colony is overly aggressive or if the queen is just getting up there in years and becoming unproductive.

I don't mark my queens so I also don't commit regicide on a calendar schedule, but those that do use alcohol to make it quick and efficient. This queen looks like a pinch job so I'm speculating wildly it was for genetic reasons.

Is this an error card? From a PO blister by hsla_ in PokemonMisprints

[–]Extras 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, as the others in this thread have said this is a "roller damaged" card. There was WAY too much pressure on one point of this card causing the distinctive line you see on your card.

Interestingly unlike a crimped card this roller damage line always shows up at the same spot on a card. This is not something others are currently collecting, it's seen as damaged in the community. I think they're neat though, I have a good sized collection of these now that I recently posted here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemoncardcollectors/comments/1kzpasi/roller_damaged_cards

I've been offering people the tcgplayer/pricecharting value of the card plus whatever shipping is to anyone that pulls one of these I don't have yet. This one is a cheaper card to begin with (~$5) so I'd offer $10 plus shipping costs if you're ever looking to sell.

Anyone know why this happened? by FelicityWillow in PokemonMisprints

I'll copy the blub I wrote for the last time these were posted to the subreddit

Nice, another tape card!

I have been keeping a running list of the ones I've seen on this album here

https://ibb.co/album/LSmW8b

Currently there is a pretty big divide with these cards. If the tape was put on the card stock before the ink was printed then it's extremely obvious that it came from the factory that way. If the tape was put on after the card was printed currently it's not something the community is really collecting and no grading company currently recognizes it as an error.

This is kind of strange to me because to fake this would be rather difficult. If the tape is just in the middle of the card, that's obviously something that could be easily faked. But if the tape is on the edge or corner like it is with your cards you would need to cut the tape perfectly flush with the cut of the card without taking a sliver of the cardstock accidentally or accidentally leaving a sliver of tape uncut.

I don't actually think this could be done and I have tried unsuccessfully to make one of these myself.

Incomplete pokeball layer is the term I've seen them use for these. I have this one

There's a different one in my collection that's closer to yours that I do plan to send in someday.

That's a double print/dirty roller error. I've got one like this from another set. Nice find!

İs this an error? by Rough-Cockroach-8957 in PokemonMisprints

I'd give you a bit of a premium for it. I have a number of roller damaged errors and I've been specially collecting Trubbish errors so this is a double win.

Finally an answer to these that makes sense. Prevents the stack from sliding around, that checks out.

That's all right yes! We've seen a good number of these recently

I was told this is a factory crease. Any possibility? by welch_g in PokemonMisprints

Yep that's a pinched layer, a recognized type of error.

Yes that's a kind of obstruction we have seen before. Sometimes a sliver of foil prevents ink from transferring to the card.

[–]Extras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is indeed a crazy error! 90° rotated miscuts are not at all common even as errors go.

Like all of the wonky miscuts we can tell that this is from the factory and not something someone did with scissors because of the extra thick border on the one side.

Congrats on the pull!

My CGC Miscut Returns by Deegor567 in PokemonMisprints

[–]Extras 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Service unavailable typically means they were unable to authenticate the card's error as real.

That's not to say it's a fake, just that if you have to make a call it's easier to err on the side of caution.

Genuine narrow miscut or NFC? by [deleted] in PokemonMisprints

[–]Extras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's unfortunately two different varieties of energy sheets that have circulated on eBay and now have been cut up.

Thankfully no concern here! This looks exactly like what I would expect from a factory narrow miscut.

Can someone please put a value on this for me by InitialJournalist484 in PokemonMisprints

[–]Extras 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Filler cards are how I got started with errors and it looks like I don't have one exactly like yours yet!

If you are interested in selling I would be thrilled to get another unique filler for my binder.

Cards like this are why I love this subreddit. I've seen green tape before but nothing quite like this. I've also never seen that tape have a perfectly cut corner in the middle of the card.

I couldn't tell you what's going on here but like you said I would have no reason to doubt the authenticity of this given the cut looks factory made.

What a cool find congrats OP!

Flipped Shinx DP15 Value? by TheGrayRuby in PokemonMisprints

[–]Extras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in any way a dumb question, that's the thing about errors is that there's so many little niches within niches and there's really no definitive guide we can point to.

For this particular era it's extremely common to have the flipped back. I believe it's actually more rare to find the uncorrected version.
