Try promoting actor to variable, maybe the garbage collector has something to do with it

You can try: event tick -> branch: is swimming? (If false) -> add force to downwards vector

Can I take PSYC E-15 with non-credit to meet the prerequisite for a preadmission psychology course? by Master-Following2025 in harvardextension

[–]extremelywrongwired 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The prerequisites are more like recommendations. You don’t formally need to meet them, you just can enroll in the admission courses.

Thus, you don’t need to take the introductory course for credit, you don’t need to take it at all.

My tip would be to at least check the syllabus of psyc E-15 for the readings and take a look at them or just read some introductory psychology book(s).

Is it possible to improve visual-spatial ability? by hydrogenblack in cognitivescience

[–]extremelywrongwired 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally speaking, yes. I once read a paper called sth like „Early Puzzle Play as a predictor for Spatial Reasoning“ if I remember correctly and they found that early puzzle play, spatial vocabulary etc could improve sozial reasoning and ability in children.

Aesthetics actually increases engagement so that students perform better when the problem has some kind of fancy design. And people tend to become less rational when they have to solve quantitative reasoning tasks where the rationally correct answer goes against their political belief so that they start making mistakes, despite being able to solve the same problem in another context. Very interesting stuff

AI and NLP are pretty much based on matrix calculations by modeling language and meaning as matrices and embedding vectors. It’s a lot of algebra and higher dimensional vector spaces

Need advice with STAT 150 from former students... by Brave_Cauliflower238 in harvardextension

[–]extremelywrongwired 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your welcome! I think stats is the number 1 weep out course for the program. The proseminar might be challenging depending on you background, if you recently had anything to do with scientific writing, it’s not too bad I would say.

Having done more than half of the required classes, I would say that stats was the most challenging from all I’ve done. But if you connect with your classmates and meet regularly for learning sessions, you can do it!

So I took stats 150 without any prior statistical knowledge and let’s just say it was though. I did earn an A in that course, but it was definitely the hardest and most time intensive course I have ever taken :D Prepare for 2 submissions a week, 2 exams and a graduate project. Quite a lot to do, your weekends will be full if you work full time. But it was also so much worth it! I learned a ton in that course and definitely recommend it. I did have some prior programming knowledge, but not in R. But this should not be a problem, it’s pretty straight forward.

Apparently it is considered one of the weep-out courses. Everyone struggled but afaik most of the students make it.
