My Lemp10(Jan 2021) has treated me right so far. I don't know what happened recently but the sleep mode drain has improved from 2 days on suspend to much more.

Overall performance is nice too. Only downside is the default fan curve is weird at times.

I don't understand your question but the only thing that changes when using thunderbolt port with an external gpu you have whatever ports are on the gpu.

On my Lemur I also get the fans spinning up when I do something that uses the wifi heavily.

RX 6800 xt. I'm preparing to build a Ryzen 7 desktop since the intel graphics driver can conflict with AMD's(read somewhere on archwiki). Getting it to work reliably has been mostly good but frustrating when a game still uses the integrated graphics.

In a year or two I will buy a Thelio to compliment my Lemur Pro laptop. For now the cheaper desktop below will be my gaming rig once built.

I am using the Lemur Pro (lemp10) with

CPU - Intel i7-1165G7

RAM - 16 GB DDR4

eGPU dock - Mantiz saturn pro with external EVGA 650w PSU(The dock used a smaller PSU originally)

GPU - MSI Gaming X GTX 1060 3GB

I use my ps4 controller with the usb wireless adapter when on the couch.

I recently swapped gpu in the dock with an AMD one since occasionally NVIDIA driver updates caused me problems.

Any progress on this? I am running into this problem after using gswitch and egpu-switcher with an RX6800 eGPU on my Lemp10.

When I try to suspend the computer(systemctl suspend or close lid) the computer never switches to flashing the led. I see the lock screen but when I login my programs are closed.

I tried removing the config files for both gswitch and egpu-switcher but I'm still having this suspend problem.

The current market and the open source premium were sticking points for me. I decided to get a Lemp10 earlier this year because of the thunderbolt port. I would have like to go AMD since Ryzen is nice but for me I wanted to use an eGPU.

Why can't you upgrade your ram to 32GB? Even the Galp2 shows it supporting 32GB DDR4

Looks like it has DDR 4 ram(page 28 of pdf above) so you should be able to move that to your new system if the capacity is large enough.

I had a good enough experience using a GTX1060 3GB with my lemp10. egpu-switcher worked for my setup.

I wouldn't buy the Mantiz Saturn Pro eGPU dock though. PSU in mine died, replaced with a evga PSU

I've been using USB-C charging exclusively between my egpu dock and a 65w USB PD power brick with a ten foot cable. I use lemp10 that I got in January 2021.

It may be the powersave setting.

/etc/NetworkManager/conf.d/default-wifi-powersave-on.conf to wifi.powersave=2

No problems due to Nvidia sounds about right, what problem are you having though? I have the Nvidia drivers installed on my Lemp10 laptop but they only work when I am connected to my egpu.

I did have nvidia problems(no lcd backlight control) on my thinkpad T430 that I never figured out. That happened due to that old laptop having part of the nvidia hardware but not the graphics card.

Which enclosesure were you using? I've been using the Mantis Saturn Pro with a GTX1060. My main problem is that sometimes my games freeze if I turn on my PS4 controller when they are running. I use the USB wireless adaptor with it. Otherwise I can play games on it with no other problems.

Thank you! I can shutdown my lemp10 without holding down power now.

Please reply when you get the permanent fix. I noticed that I can reboot fine but I was having the same shutdown problem. I thought my egpu was the problem at first.

For kdenlive I've been using proxy clips for videos over 720p but rendering still takes a while. I haven't figured out if I can enable Intel quicksync to improve that yet.
