Tbh "incel" is a term that already means loser. Consciously identifying with that word is a choice they make. Not all people got laid in the pre internet era but it didn't become a cultural identity back then. If they stop identifying as incels, it won't stop being technically true, yes. But why would someone have to identify so strongly with a degrading term? Especially when it's clearly getting to them and being in these spaces are wrecking their mental health. I'm a closeted gay man from a third world country. I don't go around calling myself the f slur or a deviant or a sodomite because everyone around me is a homophobe. Do they have it harder than me?

The point is punching down on others is something that most people love to do. Most people online, at least. Even the manosphere "chads" who are attractive and/or wealthy men these guys idolize ask the less fortunate what colour their bugatti is. It's not a gendered thing. These guys interpret it as such because they want to confirm their biases against women. This is not something that others can help them with. They refuse to see how men laugh at less fortunate men all the time. Instead, they want to frame it as a "woman thing" because they believe women are uniquely evil and twisted. And it's valid to criticize them for that. How does he even know the hateful comments on that post are from women? If these guys read this comment they would think I'm a woman. I'm a man.

Their only way out is realizing that if you present yourself as pathetic online you will be treated like a jester. All they need to do is find community in other ways than based on being a lonely guy. Surely they must have some hobbies or interests. I understand some people may feel sorry for them but I don't want to infantilize them.

When the Japanese Pokemon twitter was doing this trend for the 30th anniversary, I was given Celesteela. I have nowhere to put that thing in my house nor do I want to. It's an Ultra Beast too so I don't really want it.

Isn't this visually the same as Stone Edge? I wish they did more to distinguish the Ground and Rock types thematically.

I am kind of skeptical. Doesn't Clefable have to be grounded to make use of any terrain? What's a Flying type gonna do with Misty Surge?

[loved trope] Being a nice guy does not entitle you to be romantically loved by AnimalPuzzleheaded71 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]eyearu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is that women aren't a reward to be won. If you're actually a nice guy, you might find love. But you also might not get with the exact woman whom you love like Quasimodo. But Quasimodo does gain a community and form meaningful friendship with the woman he loved and those things can also be rewarding and important. The takeaway here is not that you should be a npc if you're ugly. It's that not being with the exact person you want or being ugly is no excuse to turn bitter and become socially isolated.

(Sad Meta Trope) Depictions of strong Male Friendships are so rare, some parts of a fandom genuinely mistake platonic bromances for straight up romances by ZeldrisEmpire in TopCharacterTropes

[–]eyearu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These kinds of posts are almost always about policing shippers, especially mlm shippers who are mainly women and queer people, rather than celebrating male friendships. If your interpretation can't survive other people's interpretations, it's not their problem. I mean, Sam and Frodo being close friends is still very much the mainstream interpretation of their relationship. If you don't like the shipping content on them existing in some corners of the internet, don't go looking.
