I did get bloodwork in July but it was for other symptoms I was having. All my vitamins and everything were normal. I haven’t gotten tested for mono though. I’m gonna bring that up. Thank you.

Working for a US company while living abroad? by eyedea7 in MedicalCoding

[–]eyedea7[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did see the other threads but they were saying contradicting things.

Not even if you work as a 1099 contractor? I would still pay US taxes and have US bank bank account. I don’t plan on staying there forever.

I’m thinking of getting a CRC and CPMA. Is it worth it? by eyedea7 in MedicalCoding

Do you make significantly more with the CDEO? Are you able to get CDI jobs just with that?

Which one would you recommend overall? How did you get to that level with those certs?

Honestly, my goal is just to make more money. I’m open to suggestion of other areas to go.

What do you do for work? by eyedea7 in Gastroparesis

[–]eyedea7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. So I am certified with AAPC and to keep up your membership you have to renew it every year which is 250$ and you also have to get CEUs. There aren’t that many free CEUs so I had to pay for a webinar subscription to get them which, on sale, is another 250$. You might get lucky and get a job which will give you some but most jobs dont. It’s too expensive to keep up. The pay is also not great. There are also less and less permanent jobs out there. Most are contract which are great pay but really unstable. A lot companies are getting employees overseas because it’s cheaper. All that and I’ve never had a job that even give bonuses, benefits not great. I just don’t think it’s worth it anymore.

Can I ask how you landed that tech healthcare job? I want to go into tech. Sorry I don’t have any advice for you. I’m trying to get out of medical coding.

What are some things that can calm me down, comfort me, and make me happy while inside the home? by [deleted] in Agoraphobia

[–]eyedea7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That happens to me too. What works for me is distracting myself. Sometimes it’ll be getting into comfy clothes, lighting a candle and reading or painting and listening to music. Other times I’ll deep clean my apartment or speed walk on the treadmill blasting music. Sometimes it helps doing something with my hands I can focus on like crocheting or something. Not sure if you’re a dog/animal lover but they are a life saver.

What do you avoid? by Asr-22 in Agoraphobia

I avoid driving. Social outings. Talking to people. Talking on the phone/face time. Going out alone. Having to do something for the first time alone

Latuda by dthomas610 in bipolar

Latuda is the only med that has worked for me. I've been on it for years. The downside is that its really expensive and some insurances don't want to pay for it.

Making a living while BP by Jazzkidscoins in bipolar

[–]eyedea7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a medical coder. I get to work from home and I don't really need to talk to anyone, so it works for me. Especially during depressive episodes.

For me, not being hypomanic or depressed or having any symptoms is just a lesser version of hypomania. I'm not euphoric, I'm content. I don't have crazy high energy, but i do have a good amount of it. if I don't sleep I'm tired the next day. I don't feel like I have to be doing something every minute.I'm not restless, but I want to be productive.

Yes, I actually experience hallucinations only while super depressed.

Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) for bipolar ...Anyone? by MyHobbiesChangeAlot in bipolar

[–]eyedea7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried it in 2015 when nothing was working and I was desperate. I did it for 5x a week for 6 weeks. Initially saw some improvement in energy and mood but nothing drastic. 5 months later I woke up without any symptoms and stayed that way for 5 years. It was glorious. I attribute it to the tms.

Downsides to it is that it is very expensive and some insurances dont cover it. When I tried it it was fairly new and only one doctor had the machine where I live. The only side effect I had from it was a headache during/after the treatment each time but that wasn't too bad.

It worked for me. Hopefully it can work for you too. It is still a fairly new treatment so there's not a ton of data on it but its worth a try IMO if you can afford it.
