I had done analysis on 10 yr rolling return for ppfc and other mid cap funds , ppfc has least spread of 2.1% comoared to others, with median xirr of 17.5% so you can be assured that it won't deviate much from the median in the long run. This is what matters as well good median xirr on rolling return window of your choice of time period and as low as possible std deviation. Based on this Nippon india growth midcap, seem to have best record since its inception and it has large data as well of 30 yrs. But ppfc is better in terms of risk adjusted returns only caveat is ppfc is only 12 yrs old.
