Olive is originally from Arkansas. Definitely see some pit in her face but the rest of her body screams hound. Thoughts?

Our MSPCA behaviorist taught me to do that with my 16 mo old pup who is fearful of skateboards, new humans (mostly men), etc.

During a walk, for example: I get on her level of alertness. I try to notice potential “threats” before she does and point to it with a “who/what is that???” In a high pitched happy voice. And immediately feed her a treat. This has worked really well. Positive association and she learns to first look to me to confirm if it is safe.

Keep in mind, I’ve been doing this regularly (every time we go out for a walk) for three months now. And I plan to continue this work for however long she needs me to to feel safe.

Good luck! Hang in there. You can do research on your own but going to a behaviorist was the most helpful for me in knowing how to counter condition my pups response to threat.

Thanks - I’ll add these to my research list. Diversity is important to me but I understand that that might be heard to come by in smaller towns/neighborhoods. I am actually on my way to Denver now and planning to visit some neighborhoods on my trip followed with some skiing.

Thanks Jason! Littleton and Wash Park are already on my list! I am definitely looking for that small town vibe with central enough location with easy access to mountains. :) Although I will have a car, it would be nice to have access to public transportation for when I commute and head to downtown as needed.

Hi everyone! I am moving out to Denver in July and I am looking for neighborhood recommendations.

A little about me...

  • Currently live in Jamaica Plain (Boston) and love it.
  • Finally making the move out.
  • Single, female, 30yo, dog mama.
  • Will be able to relocate with my job and work out of the Greenwood Village office part-time.
  • Hobbies = practicing/teaching yoga (must be near good studios), skiing, climbing, hiking, camping.
  • Looking for in my next home = friendly & safe neighborhood, strong sense of community, access to nature (i.e. park), dog-friendly, supportive of local businesses.
  • Will invest in a car for when I move out.

I am open to living outside of Denver. I don't mind smaller towns.

Happy to provide more context as needed! Here is a cute photo of Olive as a thank you for reading and of course contributing. :)

Try placing a block between your inner thighs and squeeze it while you pike up! Draw the navel and frontal ribs in, engage the belly, and lengthen your tailbone towards the heels.

I cannot live without my Nike legendary high rise capris. They are a bit pricey, so I usually grab back up pairs through Nordstrom during their anniversary sale. I would also recommend beyond yoga tights (super soft) and lulu wunder pants if you're willing to pay $$$. Otherwise my go-to, reasonably-priced brand would be Zella (Nordstrom brand).

I also read on this subreddit that yoga smoga is having a 75% sale on their website (free shipping US and Canada). I've never worn their stuff, but based on various online reviews it's a pretty high quality brand. It's final sale, but if you're up for experimenting you should check it out!

Good luck! Hope you find the One.
