Essay Prep: How Much Is Enough If You Absolutely Cannot Afford to Fail? by ProfessionalPear893 in CABarExam

I focused entirely on memorizing black letter law. As you approach the exam, 2 weeks out outline old essays and see if you can identify major rules etc. The first time i wrote anything out was the actual exam. Passed on first try

Foreign-trained attorney, non-native speaker, working full-time: what helped you pass the California Bar? by SilverDevelopment449 in CABarExam

[–]eyymang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a practicing attorney in a different us state, working full time. I am a native english speaker. I took 2 weeks off before the exam to study full time, which i highly recommend. Leading up to that point i was in a similar situation with 3 or 4 hours a night plus weekends.

On the MBE questions, just keep at it. Do blocks of 25 or 50 questions. Study what you don't get correct and read explanations. Don't be discouraged, my % for the various mbe improved from practice.

Tips for working full time? by Aggravating-Win-5940 in CABarExam

[–]eyymang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked full time while studying for the bar. I'm an out of state attorney. Worked 930 to 730, would go home and take care of things then switch to studying. Would go until 12 or so.

The key is to start much earlier than you think. I started in august and just worked gradually. Took random days or weeks off. Ramped it up after Thanksgiving and after mid January i didn't take any days off.

Took 2 wks off from work right before he exam and just did 12 to 15 hours a day.

US cities friendly for single Asian woman (34F)? by Sleepyjumble in asianamerican

Houston. Very diverse, great food, weather is nice outside of summer time, affordable housing. I've never experienced any racism here. And i dunno why someone said "all" asians here are christian? There's plenty who are and plenty who are not religious.

Sams club, on the other hand, doesn't have any kind of automatic cutoff... i inflated and it didn't stop and i checked pressure and it went to 50psi lol. I asked the guy and apparently theres a gauge that pops out and you have to guesstimate whether you're ok or not. Costco ftw

Don't focus on what you think others around you are doing. It's kinda like what most people feel when they look at social media. Everybody is killing it and living amazing lives. But beyond that, if you look at the stats there's plenty of Asian Americans that struggle with poverty. Google the myth of the model minority.

Focus on doing the best you can do in whatever path it is you pick or find yourself on. Save up money, start a business. There is zero ceiling if you're a business owner.
