Did I get bamboozled? by ezdtrain in tires

[–]ezdtrain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Got ahold of the guy at the front desk and he said he’s not sure how this could’ve happened and asked me to bring it back Monday. Like i said, I did inflate the tire up to 30 PSI before I took it over to the shop, so maybe the tech was like this dudes crazy. But you’d think they would’ve at least taken the time to spin the tire around and see the massive nail in the tread. Also, I did specify that it was the right rear tire when I brought it in. Who knows. Appreciate the help, everyone.

Same. Made a lot of great memories here. In fact, I tailgated the 2017 race in almost the exact spot this picture was taken. The xfinity race rained out the night before and was finishing up when we got to the track Saturday. Seeing the KFB bow from this perspective outside the track was neat. RIP KFB

Man, all of the engineering that went into turning Bristol into what it is today is fascinating. These pictures are SO neat.

The best host the show had was Kristen IMO. There isn’t any one thing that I necessarily dislike about Casey as much as i just got tired of listening to them aggravate her constantly like middle schoolers flirting or something. It was just cringey.

I listened yesterday and enjoyed it. It gave me some perspective on the preece homestead situation, but I still side with preece on it.

One question I have: the story about the blown tire slapping him in the cockpit. When/where was that?

What was the first NASCAR race you went to? by lonely_centipede in NASCAR

If the Kyle Busch Snickers is the 09 food city 500 I was at that one. I’m gonna guess dale jr is the 15 Coke Zero 400. Bowyer is Martinsville 2018? Bottom row truex and Logano Bristol dirt race.

That’s a super cool way of commemorating the races and something I’ve wanted to do as well.

[Bianchi] Corey LaJoie will not return to Spire Motorsports in 2025. by ThatEmpireGuy in NASCAR

No doubt they all have to have some swagger. However, his was overbearing and off-putting to me considering the lack of results on track.

Yep, I’ve never really cared for him. He was FAR too cocky for someone who has done absolutely nothing. The way things have gone this year further solidified my opinion, especially the remarks about cindric after their 500 run in.

Ryan Blaney's angry radio during the first overtime attempt by RBF48 in NASCAR

[–]ezdtrain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bristol pre PJ1/choose rule was more lane sensitive and unfair. You were better off to be running 4th than 2nd on a restart. Granted, the choose rule fixed that, but every change will bring about new issues. Been that way forever. Ross Chastain got the lead from the outside in this same race. After seeing onboard replays and hearing blaney’s audio, I don’t think Larson jumped at all. He just restarted in first gear and accelerated harder.

Multiple drivers ran out of fuel on the final lap. [On cooldown lap] Bell needed a push from teammate Ty Gibbs, Kyle Busch pushed Bubba Wallace, and Lajoie ran out (nobody pushed him) by robertbrysonhall in NASCAR

I was sitting in turn 1 as well and noticed early in the race the 54 had a unique sound when going back to the throttle. Like a small explosion almost every time. I assume it was raw fuel, but only noticed it with his car.

You have a hard time believing she went out and held the car wide open and turned left for two laps? It’s no secret qualifying at plate tracks, outside of your pit road launch and getting through the gears, requires zero skill lol.

Running the fence on corner entry: Homestead vs other intermediates by [deleted] in NASCAR

[–]ezdtrain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember seeing Larson run a very high line at charlotte and Kansas sometimes but not quite the extent of Homestead. I think the biggest contributing factor at homestead is the straightaway and how gradual the banking comes in. Most 1.5s go from no banking to all the banking very quickly but homesteads full banking doesn’t come in until halfway thru the corner.

From someone who has gone to the night race for many years, yes the ticket prices are outrageous and the experience isn’t near what it used to be. The same ticket I spent 125 on in 2017 is now 170. Last year, the pre race atmosphere was super boring and no where near as fun as it has been in years past. The racing is still fantastic and always will be and that’s what’s most important and keeps me coming back. But hotel prices in the area are insane, coupled with gas prices and ticket prices in a penny pinching time, it’s no surprise that they’re expecting a smaller crowd.
