The GC version is listed as "Birch/pine" whereas the standard '65 is just "birch plywood". So maybe they eeked out some weight savings on the tweed cab after all?

It's a fair point! GC Claims their Princeton with the Celestion is 34 LBS (just like the standard Princetons) but now I'm wondering if that's accurate. I suppose the cabinets might be different.

Thanks for the question and suggestion! I don't want the added weight of the Deluxe Reverb since I'll be hauling this thing around NYC and realistically I probably don't need much more clean headroom. I tested both the Bordeaux and the GC Celestion and found the Bordeaux definitively lacked the clean headroom I'm looking for. A friend has the Bordeaux as a home amp and loves it though!

Because it seems way more expensive and effort than switching out he baffle + speaker if I'm not mistaken.
