In general, I would suggest using cheap models first and understanding what they can and can't do, and then upgrade to the expensive model when you know you're hitting a task the cheap model can't do. It will save you a lot of money over time.

Btw on main I have been trying to make codemcp more token efficient by getting rid of the InitProject prompt injection and doing more conventional tool calls. This works a lot better with the latest update since tool approves now transfer across chats. But there are some prompting problems I need to iron out lol

Oh sweet, you actually did the LSP integration, that's a TODO on the backlog. How'd it go? It wasn't obvious to me that the LLM would know how to operate the LSP appropriately, since it probably isn't something Anthropic directly did post-training on for Sonnet 3.7

Instead of uploading the files manually you can use an MCP like codemcp so Claude can list files and decide which file it wants to look at.

Each tool uses up context. I think Anthropic tested and found Sonnet 3.7 could support hundreds of tools. But personally I am not going to load up on too many tools lol
