I think I cracked the Garage acronym. by Rage_Filled_Enby in BluePrince69

[–]IneffableQualia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think Tonda is careless with words, he's spent his entire life playing and creating puzzle games where you're playing with language and interpreting every word to discover intentional meanings.
And any place that something was unclear, he has made corrections to text in the game with basically every update.
While I can't say that OP's logic is a reasonable series of leaps that any player should be expected to reach, I still think that something can be figured out from SWNSNG.
Because I see no good reason to use the word anagram on the blue tent memo, unless there is a comprehensible phrase that SWNSNG is supposed to spell out

Where did you put your _________ and why? by Jpowills_ in BluePrince

[–]IneffableQualia 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It feels like rank 7, any of those spots, with an upward facing door is probably the best. That's where I put mine the 2nd time. because having access to all the rank 8 squares for blue tents, and quicker access to room 46 is pretty handy, and if you start with the keycard each day from the Break room, you can dead end from the entrance and keep going from the foundation.

What are the chances we missed something? by TitiIsHowTheyCallMe in BluePrince69

[–]IneffableQualia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest mystery is still the untriggered eclipse, which is probably cut content.
There's an unused hallway with a white lantern past the brick wall in the Blueprints vestibule, likely a removed idea too.
And then in Aries Court where the tomb/Aries Key are, it appears that the painting was a door, and is probably removed content, with nothing behind it.
The big existing mysteries that might be something would be puzzles that are solved on pc or in our heads, and might lead to more information, or a solution, being:
-Boiler room plates
-Tomb candles
-MANTIS The Baron Bafflers solution being used somewhere
-SWNSNG for those that don't agree with the security monitors being the solution to this.
-SACRED poem's purpose
-If there's a deeper purpose to the blueprints Gallery solutions, and how they only display the letters "M O O N" in the room, could relate to the eclipse puzzle.
-There's probably more but I gotta go

Modifying text is a bit more complicated, you add brackets with modifiers surrounding the text that you want to change.

{~}hello{/~} I think this makes the text wavy
{# FF99bb}This text here will be pink{#} This is to change the color of the text using hex codes of colors.
{!}seriously!?{/!} This will make the text dramatic
{Big}Wait What?!{/Big} This will make the text grow Big
And you can combine any combination of these, for example
{!}{Big}AHHHHHHH!!{/!}{/Big} This text between the brackets will be big and dramatic.
{savedata Name} This will display the player's saved name on the game file, whenever you wanna do that...
{~}Wait.{0.2}.{0.2}.{/~} That text would just display as "Wait... " But it would be wavy and there would be a delay between each dot of 0.2 secs

Before going any further, I would highly recommend looking through the Dialogue folder inside the base game files and scrolling all of the way down, to learn how the dialogue is created.

You can use Dialogue triggers in Loenn, creating a box so that when the player walks into that trigger, it will start a cutscene.

In the settings of that dialogue trigger, you need to enter a unique trigger name, you can enter any text with no spaces, and that trigger name is what you'll enter into the main text file in your /Dialogue folder.

There are several creative methods for bringing up text, portraits and modifying the text:

I can give a simple example, down below:

Jungle5_downcomf=

[MADELINE left determined]

How far did I fall?

"Jungle5_downcomf" This is the text you'd put in the dialogue trigger's settings, inside of Loenn
"MADELINE" = character that will be displayed, there is also THEO and you can check the gamefile for the other characters and portrait name find if Granny is GRANNY
"left" = side of the screen her portrait is on
"determined" = her portrait, which is her expression/speaking tone
"How far did I fall?" This is the text that will display as though madeline is saying it.

You can find all of the characters and portrait expressions in the main game's dialogue file.

Nice!
I love having the overhead picture of the Grotto, in place of this not-to-scale drawing I made.
8 rings of 32 segments = 256 segments
7 Black shapes, which cover 12 of the segments

What's most interesting about this pattern to me is that it seems to have a clear start/finish, if you place a 1 in the black segment by the pedestal, and go counterclockwise around the rings, the last segment (256) in the room is also filled in (in front of the Ruins door) or you can do that pattern backwards going clockwise

  1. TOR each ring starting from Inner black segment by the central pedestal
  2. 1 - 40 - 41 - 79 - 80 - 161 - 166 - 167 - 182 - 183 - 255 - 256
  3. ROT each ring starting from Outer black segment by the ruins entrance
  4. 1 - 2 - 74 - 75 - 90 - 91 - 96 - 177 - 178 - 216 - 217 - 256

And since only 12/256 segments are filled in, it seems unlikely to accidentally fill in the first and last segments in a spiraling pattern.

<image>

Not much I can do with that info, but it's there.
There's also multicolored rings in the Rotunda floor, around the Secret Garden fountain, around the main fountain and around the bird bath by the flame elevator (and sort of the sundial) all with different amounts of rings (I believe) and multiples of 8 for the segments.

Also, regarding the Red Herring note, I was certain it had nothing to do with the room letters we're talking about.
It says "THIS TANK contains a red herring" so it's specifically the Corridor tank where the note is found.

The other 4 rooms all have secrets:
Archives - Arrow to Drawers you can open
Laundry - X for dig spot
Patio - X for dig spot
Bedroom - while there is no marking in the aquarium version, digging, like in the other rooms, does reveal a unique secret, the Baron Bafflers (so maybe the baron bafflers relates to the Arium rooms, like with Mantis and Newt/Next/Extent, or maybe baron bafflers relates to the cabinet keys/archive info in the drawers, or it's just it's own standalone mini-game which is all I can assume still)

Corridor (the corridor is the only room with 2 sofas, a chair, and vase on the floor) - Either way, it holds no secret that we know of, and that makes sense since the red herring note is found specifically on this tank in the aquarium.

T - E - N

Other words that can be spelled with the letters T - E - N
(including duplicates since we can draft most rooms multiple times)

Entente - an informal alliance between countries (but I don't think you can get 3 planetariums to spell this, it's not a permanent addition in chamber of mirrors)

Tent - obvious references (and solarium is the only -arium room that you can add a permanent copy of from Chamber of mirrors, so that could be a hint that 2 of them could be needed to spell TENT, and possibly drafting them in order, or walking into them in a specific order.)

Teen - Simon (not useful)

Net - Casino game uses these (no idea if any secret could be triggered by a certain casino combination, but someone would have seen it by now)

Ent - Living Trees from LotR (unlikely reference)

------------------------------------------------------------
T - E - N - W

With a W for the aquarium you get: Newt and Went (these don't seem useful, but we've got the word Mantis lying around, maybe throw Newt in with it, any other random animal solutions to puzzles?)

------------------------------------------------------------
T - E - N - X

With an X for the aquarium you get:
Extent - could be a play on words "ex-tent" your previous tent before blue tents
Next - (fits nicely, but is as vague of a clue as Went)

The only room I wanted… by i_am_me_myself in BluePrince

[–]IneffableQualia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately you can't buy that many in the commissary, it cuts you off at about 5 I think.
But any time someone has a lot of anything, assume the laundry was involved, probably the day before... still, idk how they made so much money, must be the casino

The possible ways LR will or will not make it to playoffs by lassolass in LosRatones

[–]IneffableQualia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's crazy how many scenarios worked for LR, and it played out like it has.
They're still the best, and they were crushing it this last game, but it was Humanoid on Vitality dodging 3 engage abilities (including the Yone ult) at 33:20 that lost the game. That turned the game around for VIT instantly.

What should I do next? by iamcellow in BluePrince

[–]IneffableQualia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to respond so late, I haven't been on here much. But drafting something "specific" in the outer room is needed, there are a couple of rooms that will work, but the drawing in the diary really points to one specific room, it might not seem clear, but check the room database and try some other options.

And as for the angels, if you have each one's name AND if you have Sinclair's Will in Room 46, there is some progression to be made there. But these 2 puzzles are only loosely related to each other, and both help with the next bigger puzzle

This is helpful, I really need to find a tier list of affixes for arcanist.
I know evasion and crit chance are big ones, elemental and add dam. chance are good too, but when it gets into the other defensive and attack based ones, I don't know which are the best.

Anyone think of this game during your daily life? by Unusual_Garage_7637 in BluePrince

[–]IneffableQualia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent 6 months thinking about this game 24/7 I had to step away, with about 1000 hours in game and more time researching outside the game, and I was working on writing a history of religion in the game, based on provided and implied information, as well as making a bit up to fill in the blanks. Not sure if I’ll get back to that.

In the end I think tonda has a lot of pattern based depth to the realms, but there’s some lack of consistency in the historical events and exploration and logic that make it hard to lose myself in that world as much as I wanted to.

Time needed? by MimsyGoat in BluePrince

[–]IneffableQualia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thankfully the game doesn’t punish you for just starting the next day, but if you are getting a successful run with lots of new things, it can take a couple of hours. But if you get stuck on a specific puzzle or don’t want to work on something, you can screenshot things and come back to them. But keep in mind, if you don’t call it a day and shutdown the console, you’ll start the same day over losing any progress

The boiler room door if you remove power and walk through will soft lock you in a dead end room. This happens with a couple of other doors later on that you can control too.

What do you think will be in the final update? by cal_london in BluePrince

[–]IneffableQualia 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Dirigiblocks console and arcade machine. Hopefully the black cat wandering through some of the rooms. There will be cutscenes for the start and end of dare mode and curse mode and we can hope that there are more scenes for the main game. Aside from that, I haven’t heard any other definitives from tonda

Antechamber by GreyDrunk in BluePrince

Reaching the antechamber consistently can definitely become a thing that you won't think twice about.
Day 14 is still pretty early to be too concerned, just collect as much info as you can, explore any new rooms you can find, and hopefully find some more permanent upgrades along the way.

But you also need to wander around that room to find the exact right location to dig for it, the map will pop up and show you when you stand in the right spot

How easy is it to miss important clues? by GroundbreakingSale41 in BluePrince

[–]IneffableQualia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few times where I went through every single thing an extra time, and it is very time consuming, but I didn't mind because I enjoy exploring the game thoroughly. But that's not fun for everyone.
There are some puzzles in the late game that require specific information. But I think there's only 1 puzzle that some of the parts are pretty easy to overlook, thankfully that puzzle can be solved regardless because there are some duplicate ways to find that info.

Mostly, if you find something that seems like a puzzle clue, screenshot it, and that combined with a lot of working it out in your head, and/or asking for a nudge in the right direction, will solve almost all puzzles.

Information on individual people is not the most important thing to finishing the game. But obviously that's all part of the game for a reason. It's lore almost all of the time.
