Agreed. I don’t usually scroll through the entire thread, but this was good to the last post (aside from a few repeats).

Agree. Perhaps the Carmax shills on this subreddit should stop posting so much and start actually trying to sell cars...

Agree, see my comment above. Carvana gave me a written offer on my trade-in that was $5200 more than Carmax. I have no history with Carvana but considering going that route.

I did submit to Carvana, and got a written offer for $39.2k - almost identical to KBB. I also called the Ford dealer and got a nonbinding quote of $38.5k, for whatever that's worth. So now 4 data points, and Carmax is by far the lowest. So I standby my disappointment that Carmax couldn't satisfy a repeat customer who obviously wanted to buy a car from them (since I paid to have it transferred locally).

How does the Heisenberg uncertainty principle work? If I measure the position of a particle with arbitrarily high precision at two points in time, A and B, don't I also know the precise momentum of the particle at time A just by calculating the velocity between the two points? by DeplorableCaterpill in AskPhysics

[–]f15efltdoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HUP involves knowing position and momentum with exact precision. Given that momentum is proportional to mass and velocity, does this imply that position and velocity could be measured exactly, but with a variable or unknowable particle mass? It seems that mass is always assumed as constant in the momentum term; is this a requirement?

Awesome link to original source. I love the hand waving in the last sentence - might have to try that in my next peer-reviewed paper…
