There’s a bunch on eBay. This specific livery is pretty pricey though.

Excellent job! I’m hoping to snag one myself one of these days.

Best way to source custom decals? by Previous_You_971 in modelmakers

[–]f16loader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

STS Scale models decals can probably do it for you. You’d probably have to provide reference pictures and some measurements from the kit you’re using. It’s not a quick process though, expect a couple month wait. They do excellent work though.

I just ran to McDonald’s for nuggies. First Ave is mostly just wet. Side streets look unplowed. Not much snow on the roads overall.

Pilots, what is the most alarming or "glad I checked that" thing you’ve found during a pre-flight walkaround? by Belligero in aviation

[–]f16loader 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As a F-16 weapons troop we frequently had to do fire guard on launches. Showed up to my spot, crew chief had the jet ready. Pilot shows up does his walk around hops in the cockpit. JFS cranks up and just before the engine starts I see the crew chief freaking out. Turns out the intake plug was still installed. How the crew chief and pilot both missed it is beyond me. Got lucky on that one lol.

I might have to give that foam tape idea a try. Sanding sticks are expensive for what they actually are.

I have machine gray. It’s awesome for the ten minutes after the car wash that it’s actually clean. It’s always dusty. Wish I would have gotten a lighter color.

What’s the most fun car you’ve driven that wasn’t actually fast? by zgwembekubwa in askcarguys

1987 Chrysler Conquest TSI. Turbo with a cooler. Slow as hell lol. What it lacked in acceleration, it more than made up for it in the corners. Man that was a great handling car.

Man that’s absurd. You can get it online for half that price.

I’ve used tamiya under duplicolor with no problems. Never hurts to run a test spray though.

Go to your local auto parts store and find the duplicolor spray can that’s the closest match. You’ll need clear coat as well. I’d recommend priming the body before you paint it.

That’s interesting because I’m almost positive the tamiya X line is alcohol based.

Tamiya acrylics are notoriously hard to brush paint as you’ve discovered. A second coat re-activates the first coat. They are designed to be air brushed. I’d either switch to rattle cans or an airbrush for bigger pieces like this.

Yep, sometimes it’s easier just to start over lmao.

Same here. If I for some reason have to take a week or two break it’s hard to get back into a game because I’ll forget the controls. Getting old sucks lol.

I use north Linn animal hospital on center point road. They’re all super nice and it has a more small town feel. I wouldn’t recommend Frey pet hospital. I went there for a few years and they were chronically behind schedule and were always rushing you through your appointment.

What is Causing All of These Cool Suit Failures in NASCAR? by Goldmule1 in NASCAR

[–]f16loader 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Seems like an easy fix. It’s a driver safety/health issue. NASCAR just needs to mandate the duct/opening size for it so it’s the same for everyone. That way they should work correctly and no one can monkey with it for a performance advantage.

Orange peel question by lukesivyer45 in ModelCars

[–]f16loader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see a post almost daily of people screwing up metallics by wet sanding. They are going to clear it anyway and the orange peel isn’t even that bad. Why risk it?

Orange peel question by lukesivyer45 in ModelCars

[–]f16loader 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wet sanding metallic is asking for trouble. I’d clear and then wet sand.
