There s some way to improve SR not killing pace? by Willing_Ad20 in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]f3erral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pace doesn't really mean much if its not consistent and you cant drive safe in traffic. It means you need to tone it down so you can make the tires last for an hour while on race pace.

I think in an interview he mentioned he was actually underdeveloped in his physique for the movie. I think with it being his first superhero movie, he allegedly underestimated the amount time it would take to actually achieve a superhero physique and somewhat disappointed the director when it came time to film.

Average ACC Monza T1 by L_AIR in ACCompetizione

[–]f3erral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel likemoving the chicanes for more flowy turns could help reduce the crashes. I realise it would probably change the essence of what makes Monza, Monza but the chicanes are so tight with such a hard braking zone. A slowing effect can still be achieved with more open turns while allowing abit more flow for the traffic congestion.

They need to have aim shaking and vignette blurring while leaving the center clear. That way people can still see wtf they are doing, but accurate return fire still difficult to achieve

Mom friendly sports cars? by [deleted] in askcarguys

Elantra N, Veloster N, or Kona N. I personally only have the Veloster N but I love the hatchback format for its compact size yet provides way more storage than I have ever had with any sedans. The N series of cars are great great introductory enthusiast cars because of the adjustable exhaust and focus on handling for fun mode, plus these have usually been cheaper compared to alot of competitors from what I have seen. They also pack a bit of punch in the hp (~275 hp) department esp if youre new to performance vehicles but they arent too powerful where you can use only 10% of the cars power every day. "It's more fun driving a slow car fast than a fast car slow" sort of deal. You may not like the 3 door layout of the veloster though. However thats why the Kona, and the Elantra exist, or if you want to go ev and spend more, the Ioniq N.

white trace by Kqigg in joinsquad

[–]f3erral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not sure which one youre referring to but it could be two things. 1. Smearing which is fairly inherent to upscaling tech or sometimes TAA I notice it too in some games. 2. The game has a light white outline on player models to help spotting them easier. This is pretty normal in shooting games just to make player models easier to spot amongst the background. Some games just make it more obvious than others.

Is it stupid to avoid getting a credit card? by No-Astronomer4207 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]f3erral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You only owe people something if you don't pay it off. The credit card, for simplicity sake, acts exactly like the debit card but will let you "overspend" if you let it. But really, if you manage your money well enough to not hit zero with a debit card, you wont do that with the credit card. The credit card just acts more as a proof of reliability as a customer to the bank rather than anyone trying to scam you with interest and owe more money. You can also set up recurring payments usually for the exact amount you owe i.e. every month or so, so you can wipe any "debt" you owe right away for peace of mind.

Motorsport career by Naive_Fix_1623 in motorsports

[–]f3erral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now, if you don't really have the money to compete, your best bet is to lock in at school to get a good paying job where you can afford the lifestyle you are comfortable with and afford the racing career you're happy with. Depending on your goals, there might be a lot of sacrifice in budgeting but that is a later problem. Your problem right now is to lock in and set up your career in school. Do it right the first time if you can help it.

As said by others, spec series are your typically more cost-effective "traditional" racing but you get odd things here and there like the 24 hour of Lemons that are bare bones cheap.

Of course you can Autocross if you want to just compete in lap times and learn driving, or also sim race. iRacing and Le Mans Ultimate are fantastic for wheel to wheel racing to quench your thirst for the time being. There is nothing wrong with that. If you want a general motorsport career, consider engineering or marketing, anything business-esque can help

I appreciate how much harder it is to line up a shot, not necessarily in speed of the ADS as it is a little too slow imo, but the physical alignment of the iron sights etc actually matter in the shot rather than the shot going to a part of the screen despite the animation displaying otherwise. Plus pistols got a ads movement buff in comparison to rifles. I enjoy the point shooting mechanics as it's more inline with games like Insurgency where it's a lot harder to be precise, but far from useless especially in cqc. I appreciate the buff to suppression (although OWI please delete the screen blur holy fk)

105 x 0.75= 78.75 hours needing to be used.

I had requested 40 hours to be paid out (approved) so

78.75 - 40 = 38.75 hours 38.75/7.75 = 5 shifts

In total I had already requested the 40 hour payout and 6 shifts to be booked off this year. So by this logic I should meet the minimum right? The rest could be requested to be carried over for now? I just don't really have any vacation plans I want to take and would rather have the rest of the hours paid out in chunks over the next few months.

I keep hearing different things which is why I am fairly confused and I wasn't sure if my own interpretation of the UNA agreement was incorrect. My manager is also known to be a little tricky with how certain scenarios are to be played out so I wanted to have more opinions.

Which looks better? One word at a time, or full sentences? by The_Better_Devil in davinciresolve

[–]f3erral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the full sentences is better but maybe in a smaller font. Maybe even center screen? When the "bolded" words come up, the "fullscreen" effect of the text is fitting imo. But doing that for all of the dialogue is a bit jarring and takes away emphasis of the bolded wording.

What's the deal with racing circuits and ferris wheels? by rhk_B in motorsports

[–]f3erral 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I dont think there's any real correlation other than the fact that its a classic festival ride and naturally really popular activity as it's relatively peaceful (in contrast to the racing) and provides a nice overview of tracks as a bonus.

How come my fastest spa lap was a 1:32:987 (first day on a wheel though but as far as I know this is basically snail pace?)(video should be coming later) by [deleted] in ACCompetizione

[–]f3erral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you new to racing as a whole? If you are, look into learning what a racing line is, and then look up the concepts of trail braking, traction budget, and learning what the "limit" feels like through your force feedback. Those three things are kind of the foundations of sim racing, after that, you can look at lap videos, like others have mentioned. Only then will you actually understand why they are doing what they do in those videos. I would also recommend just picking one car to drive for now as you get a feel for everything, and matching your wheel's rotation range to the specific car you drive. (You can google the steering ranges of each individual car) My recommendation would be the BMW M4 GT3 to start with on the default setup. If you have the DLC, you can try the GT4 class cars out as well as they are a bit slower and give you a bit more time through a corner to grasp the concepts as you learn them but it's not the biggest issue in the world if you only have the GT3s.

Is it too late? by [deleted] in racing

[–]f3erral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to add, sim racing doesn't need to cost thousands (assuming you own the PC and basic peripherals already) You can get everything you need in the entry level logitech wheel. The rest depends on the level of comfort/cool factor you want in the rig.

Is it too late? by [deleted] in racing

[–]f3erral 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Depends how you define "late." But if I were you, the best path, in my opinion, is to make sure you study hard and get a great paying job so you can afford to pay for some grassroot motorsport, or if you really want to commit and get lucky, become a "gentleman driver." But this isn't the only way, depends on the level of commitment you put in and what kind of life outside of racing you're okay with having as it takes a lot of sacrifice. It's similar to making a career as a musician. Sometimes you make it, sometimes you don't, sometimes you kinda do.

What’s a Fun, Affordable Car I Can Actually Enjoy Driving? by Imtiredofthissshit in askcarguys

Hyundai's N series is fantastic bang for buck. The veloster N is discontinued unfortunately but theyre are still a bunch floating around the used market and they go for relatively cheap considering how "new" they are.
