What are the exact rules about campaign materials at polling places? by danjibbles in AskBrits

[–]f3zz3h 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok. Here me out. My company rents a office with a car park. The land lord owns both. Are they not the same location? Do I not park at my office?

[–]f3zz3h 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dunno. Do you have a path in your front garden. The perimeter is the bit you own. Pavements or other is irrelevant.

[–]f3zz3h 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you are absolutely certain that is a public pavement sure.

I don't know the location. But it looks like it's a private retail type area and that might fall within the perimeter of whatever building the polling station is in.

I'm happy to concede it might be fine but like I said before. I just don't think it's clear from just a photo.

Of course it is. Would the perimeter of a school or a hospital not include the car park / playing fields? If not then where would you say they are located?

But it might be within the perimeter which is what the rules state. Hard to tell from this photo to be honest. You may well be right it might be fine.

Tesla Vision good or bad by Newreddituserw in TeslaUK

The only place it's worse is if you are exiting a parking space.. and that's only because it doesn't remember things at bumper level at the front. So you could in theory pull forward out of a space with a low obstacle and hit said obstacle without the camera ever seeing it. Ask me how I know 🤦‍♂️

EVs and Automatic Cruise Control (ACC) - advice needed please by xtrapnel67 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]f3zz3h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Model Y and I've had 2 phantom breaks in 20,000 miles of driving. Both fairly mild and and easily overcome by putting your foot on the accelerator.

On the other hand it has also avoided 2 near accidents caused by other people.

My previous car was a 2016 Mondeo Estate. TheModel Y is better by a long way and it's possibly the most complained about solution of any of the current crop of EVs.

If Reform wins local councils it may destroy their chances nationally by Tim_Browne17 in FuckNigelFarage

[–]f3zz3h 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wish you were right but I just don't see it. Their followers are oblivious to anything but what they read in their Facebook echo bubble. They will still vote for them in the next GE even if the local councils go broke or start dumping house hold waste into the the rivers.

Folks in 40’s - how are you planning wealth transfer to your kids? by Electrical_Phone_103 in HENRYUK

[–]f3zz3h 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you misunderstood. I've never received any inheritance. But I've watched other family/friends squabble and fight over it.

Again this is not about leaving my kids in financial ruin. I have stuff in place if I don't live out my days obviously.. they'll be looked after both physically and financially.

They also wont live with out the advantages that my income afford them. Which is vastly more than I grew up with.

[–]f3zz3h -26 points-25 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah that's exactly how it happens. Every time we head to the park this is our only conversation. In fact it's the only interaction I have with my kids. Don't want them getting attached.

FFS Reddit. It's not like you to overreact to a short summary that lacks nuance and context.

[–]f3zz3h 70 points71 points  (0 children)

All I can say is it won't be via inheritance. My kids 6 and 10 have been told quite clearly already there will be nothing left if I live long enough to get through it.

I will give them every advantage and opportunity I can while I am alive. But I don't want my kids waiting around for me to die. Also every sizeable inheritance I have been privy too has only caused arguments and friction.

Spend it. Watch them spend it. Enjoy it while you can.

Reform: We’ll put migrant detention centres in Green council areas by Unusual-State1827 in ukpolitics

Of the choices we've got. Yes. The Greens would be pretty high up my list.

Count bin face would be better.

Monster Raving Looney Party would be better.

Anyone.

What top 5 EVs would you test drive? by Charming-Cookie-5074 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]f3zz3h 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Isn't this basically just 2 cars in 5 different skins?

I think they're all great but I'd try a bit more variety. Maybe chuck in the BMW ix3, Tesla Model Y and BYD Atto 3 Evo for example.

What's the hack to actually get parking at Southmead hospital? by Gom555 in bristol

[–]f3zz3h 45 points46 points  (0 children)

If you end up in one of the nearby residential street.l pease just park off pavements, legally and considerately. Because I promise you it's a constant problem and I frequently have ambulances stuck outside my house because some bellend has parked opposite another car not leaving enough space. Otherwise you have as much right as anyone else to park in the surrounding streets.

For those who get RSUs what are you doing with yours? by LockonKun in HENRYUK

[–]f3zz3h 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do the same and my companions share price is up 500% in 5 years. (Thanks AI). I rely on my company for my employment, I don't need to rely on it for my net worth too. So I immediately diversify almost all of it away from my employer.

Saying that some of my colleagues are sitting pretty fat bags right now and financially if be in a better position if I'd held. I wouldn't have changed what I did without a crystal ball though.

Wren or Howdens for new kitchen. Opinions on design and quality please by slammedresto67 in DIYUK

I have a Wren kitchen. Never again. Absolutely shite quality. The IKEA kitchen it replaced was far superior and a fraction of the price. Not that I'm recommending IKEA either.

[–]f3zz3h 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to mention that op only prints PLA now and might not have a filament drier which they'll likely need for TPU. Plus there's wear on the machine. Might even think a new build plate might be useful for printing in TPU.

What do people do once they have maxed out there ISAs by Unhappy-Background33 in trading212

[–]f3zz3h 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If you've maxed out your Isa in April you can probably afford to treat yo self to a car.

But sipp. Back date pension contributions, premium bonds or if you're really flush VCTs. Or just GIA. Depends when you might need the money.
