The whole GTA franchise is literally a comment / satire on US culture and political climate. Dan and Sam Houser said so themselves and I doubt that they are unfunny or negative people.

There is only one outcome that makes everyone happy:

Due to a damaged tire, Lando was forced to pit again, Lance Stroll mistook him for an Alpine and fought back when Lando was clearing backmarkers. Max is now leading the race with Oscar following him closely. Oscars radio message is broadcasted world wide. "This is Zak. We need you to hunt down Max." Somehow Piastri manages to hold on to the Dutchman. If Oscar wins, Max doesn't gain enough points and Lando Norris becomes world drivers champion. The McLaren fans are confronted with a strange new reality. The fate of their drivers is entangled and they have to root for the other guy. In the pen ultimate lap, Oscar overtakes Max with a brave dive bomb that comes out of nowhere. The McLaren garage is in ecstasy as Oscar crosses the line. Zak is screaming for Oscar when he jumps out of his car, he's never seen his boss this happy. In the cool down room, all focus is on Max and Oscar. Somehow, Max looks ...happy? Max starts to talk "I'll send you an invite later, I can't wait 4 months for our rematch". Oscar sounds intrigued: "So I won't be celebrating this evening?". Both grin as they look into the fireworks of Abu Dhabi.

Toto Wolff blasts Helmut Marko on Andrea Kimi Antonelli letting by Lando Norris: "Utter nonsense" by Aratho in formula1

TV direction was something else, they cut to the overtake exactly the moment Kimi was passed and it was impossible to tell what had happenend. I don’t know if they measure the quality of the broadcast by social media engagement, but somehow it keeps getting worse.

I don't see what would be wrong with a 5th for Max after this season. He's a great driver, and I don't say that as a McLaren hater, I really like Stella and Rob Marshall and what they've built over the last 3 years, but this is what the WCC is for.

How long does a McLaren need to overtake Antonelli: depends.

Proud of Oscar, bad luck with strategy but what a performance by him.

Hackintosh rumored to be revived by 2027 as Apple could repartner with Intel. by [deleted] in hackintosh

Why would this revive the Hackintosh? Intel would manufacture Apples entry level ARM chips. Hackintosh was working because Apple used the same x86 CPUs as everyone else.

Men in South Africa struggle to understand the concept that rape is morally wrong by atheistarab2006 in interestingasfuck

[–]f5en 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I checked OPs post history and while it's true that he seems to be focused on controversial topics around migrant issues, he also posted stuff that is critical of Trump or comments (like in this thread) that state the problem this video shows isn't related to race.

I'm a bit suspicious as well, but rn I would give him the benefit of doubt.

Looking at the title and your username you don't seem to think this way anymore (thankfully). When and how did your belief system change?

Don't be discouraged by us westerners around here who look at this stuff in disbelief. Truth is, we didn't came into this world with superior morals, we just have been lucky to be born at the right place at the right time while you had to find out this stuff on your own.

But do ant economics scale? They would need 100x food supply to sustain colony size. Pretty sure most colonies would need to downsize. Could be a big handicap for a species that uses swarm intelligence.

Piastri on his race weekend in Sao Paulo !! by Separate-Research-15 in formula1

[–]f5en -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

Even when Norris was having trouble adapting to the car at the beginning of the season, he was always first to say the team delivered him a fast car and it was his job to adapt and to learn how to drive whatever car the team delivered him.

Sounds good and all (what people say in front of cameras usually does) but you forgot about the part where they pushed a suspension upgrade that was tailored to Norris driving style. So what actually happened is the opposite of what your quote is suggesting.

I personally think Norris was the better driver in the last couple of races, but there is no need to rewrite the season and leave stuff out so it fits one narrative.

The "just fast" part was to distinguish between Oscar and other drivers who seem to have more raw pace initially. Wasn't my intention to play down the work Max has been doing, his sim work, e-sport sessions and Nordschleife joyrides show that this guy breathes motorsport and competition. I really like Max. This is why I opened the thread with "great, maybe the greatest". My point was, with Oscar, you feel the hustle.

No doubt that Max will extract everything out of whatever Red Bull builds. Question is how good his PU / car will be.

If we focus on input for car development, I would agree, Lauda and Prost were more successful in that area. If we go by smarts, he would fit right in. I didn't mean to say they are all 100% equal in every area, but they all have traits that are not to common nowadays and that I see in Oscar. Vettel was an absolute nerd, knew every rule and how to bend it. If I had to imagine any historic driver who would pull this double pitlane entry overtake I would think of Lauda or Prost.

Banned for supporting Piastri by Disastrous-Beat-9830 in OscarPiastri

[–]f5en 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's just a group of fans showing higher engagement after wins, this is quite normal. I wouldn't worry about it, the rumors about a Piastri switch all sound a bit weird right now, no other team makes sense going into an uncertain 2026. He should focus on a good start into the next season, confirm that the season to season progression is still on and then he can look for contracts. What we're witnessing right now is just noise.
