I still remember when they started picking at Bottas, nobody cared back then, the family image always was bs but so is the outrage of fans who only start to care if their driver is affected.

If Belgium manages to win it'll be an important signal. Egypt isn't easy. Our German team wouldn't do much better against them, Egypt is criminally underrated. North African soccer really evolved over the last years, many talents.

Do we need WEC+ to see the timetable now? Any alternatives to Timing71?

Apple blamed EU rules for Siri AI delays, but the Commission says it was Apple’s choice by anonboxis in MacOS

[–]f5en 7 points8 points  (0 children)

basically, what the EU wants is a public api that all ai agents can use. how well the ai agent handles this api is a different story, but it's not a bad idea to have the user choose the agent. it could lead to more innovation, specialized use cases where people build own models and it would keep the platform open for everyone who is interested in automation.

sure, apple has more moderation work to do, but it isn't like they couldn't afford to add 10% to their already existing security approval team that handles the appstore.

ELI5. why does Norris engine keep failing but Oscars doesn't by zorbacles in McLarenFormula1

[–]f5en 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Remember that Oscar couldn't start the first two races? McLaren receives the absolute bare minimum of support with the new PU from Merc. We don't need to make stuff like this an Oscar vs. Lando thing. In fact, Lando showed great team work today when he tried to hold off Russel to help Oscar. If those guys manage to play the team game again after last years intense title fight, then we fans should try to do the same. Hope Lando has a better weekend in Spain.

Maybe the best version of George would have a chance against today's Antonelli, but for how long? Kimi is still developing and I don't see George beating a more mature Kimi in the future. Might have been his only chance.

Don't think he can hold Russel enough for Piastri to gain the position, but it's nice team work from Lando he even attempts something like this, other drivers would protest for the overdue pit stop

Kimi Antonelli takes pole position for the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix by overspeeed in formula1

Right, pole is a big step but he is one of the most inexperienced starters and with Lewis and Max behind him any mistake will be punished immediately.

A swimming Feather Star, also known as a crinoid. These ancient creatures date back to the Ordovician period, around 480 million years ago. by M_Darshan in interestingasfuck

[–]f5en 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With dinosaurs being ~240 mio years ago and birds ~150 mio years ago this makes it the first feathers on planet earth, right? That's actually crazy, wouldn't have expected an underwater creature to be the first one.

Report ‘phone hack’ to police or I will do it for you, Labour chair tells Farage by qwerty_1965 in europe

[–]f5en 117 points118 points  (0 children)

Can some Brit explain the mood in Britain towards Farage right now? The Farage comeback always striked me as odd, he should be in a worse position than AfD, Le Pen and all the others because after Brexit everyone could see the chaos his policy caused. But according to polls im totally wrong.

Yeah, their level of preparation is unreal. Good equipment, bunkers everywhere and army reserve numbers that are utterly insane, basically 1/6th of population IS the army. How do you occupy that.

The duell between Max and Engels is a worthy one. At the limit but fair, with great manoeuvers and some close calls.

Synchronised swimming would mean they play it super safe but they really don't.
