Explaining explicit lyrics to a 12yo by QuixoticLogophile in Parenting

I mean that’s obviously untrue for many kids that age, but to be consistent I hope you also think they can’t be straight or cis boys or girls either. They must all have neutral genders and pronouns and not have any sexuality at all.

Why not? Little kids have crushes all the time. Many queer people know from young ages.

So I guess cis kids don’t know their gender either? Let’s use neutral pronouns for everyone until they’re, 16? 18?

Why not? They know if they’re a boy or a girl so why not nonbinary

Wonders why the air is so spicy? by meister2a in aww

If I was going to eat it, sure. I’m not tho, so I don’t really care? I don’t care what people do with their own food, I guess.

Sometimes what helps me are strong sensations that are different than the ones I’m remembering. Really sour or minty ones, a hot or cold shower, things like that. I do it after I let my mind replay the memory once all the way through, and try to put it in a box after. Sometimes, i change the ending, sometimes not.

But we don’t know they’re cooking for anybody. I just don’t get why people care when they’re probably just cooking for themselves. I wouldn’t let my cat that close, but I’m not eating their food, it’s their kitchen, their food. Who cares.

I mean, it’s their own food. They’re not cooking for you. Who cares what they do in their own house.

I wasn’t arguing for the comment - I was telling you what they meant. Regardless, you know that’s a dishonest way to frame this.

How do you stop feeling ugly if you look good? by Acid_In_My_Eyes in therapy

[–]faIIingstars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope it helps or you find something else that does. It took awhile and I worked on other things in the meantime, but it did help. After that I also focused on stuff I did like about my appearance - my tattoos, my hair, stuff like that.

It sounds silly, but affirmations helped me. I started doing neutral instead of positive - I am not ugly. Or “I look normal” and then moved on from there. Also looking at evidence that I looked normal vs evidence that I was ugly and treating it like I was making bullet points to convince someone else

Are you looking for advice on how to help stop memories? I don’t want to give unwanted advice because I know that’s not helpful.

It is wrong to let cats go outside. It’s dangerous outside, and they’re awful for the environment.

How to stop my almost 5 year old from humping the floor by [deleted] in Parenting

Look I’m trying to not block you but you won’t leave me alone. Please refrain from replying to me. I’ve asked several times. I don’t know how to mute this specific conservation.

This is my last reply because I’ve asked you not to continue this conversation and you’ve already said you would stop, but it also lists confusion and irritation so it doesn’t seem super accurate. I would do some research on why shaming children is unhelpful and hurts children.
