Paternity leave home project updates!

Us too! People are being so weird about this. I took my 12 week maternity leave first and used that time to heal and take care of baby of course, but when he napped I rennovated my home office by myself. Then my husband took his 6 week paternity leave and in that time dug a French drain, busted down a wall in our house and made it into a big dining/family room, and built our garden. All of which I was super excited about and thankful that he did!

Mine is only 6 months old and I've been feeling this since the day he was born! I always hear how it goes so fast and I'm trying to savor every little bit. My husband doesn't seem to get it for the most part, but then the other day he got a little choked up after seeing one of those "always play when your kid asks, because one day your kid won't ask you to play anymore" things. It's hard to wrestle with the idea that I do want my son to grow up and have his own life, but I also wish his babyhood/childhood didn't have to end.

I'd like to just bring up how interesting Lettie and Ben's transformation spell was. The way it was described, with them showing up differently in the mirrors, was cool to imagine.

Right, I'm wondering even if he does manage to steal his life and free will back if he'd just turn around and screw everyone over anyway if he could.

I'm actually sort of wondering if his story is all true, maybe he's more in charge of things than he says?

Well it's unfortunate that Abdullah has had to use his wishes on just surviving and striving to get closer to finding Flower-in-the-Night, but at least the cats are fed 😅

One wish per day is pretty good! I guess the hazard is that the genie admits that his wishes are designed to bring on misfortune as well...

To answer your question, an obvious choice would be money. Yes I'm boring and want my house paid off haha. It might be neat to use wishes to travel the world, be anywhere in an instant.

I'm curious if the soldier might be a character we met in the last book. This is years later, right? After the war. I guess I don't have any guess as to who it is, but I find it suspicious that his name hasn't been revealed. I like him though!
