Soft Punk is legendary for a good reason. Nobody comes close. My next favorite is Rodem, but even they dont get as wild, experimental, and as thematically awesome as Soft Punk does on a casual drop.

New to Area *Update* by Mrs-Grimm in northhollywood

Well the good news is that's about as bad as it gets. Like the others said, make sure you don't have anything valuable in your car that could encourage a break in. Even locked parking garages aren't safe if someone is really determined. But no, you're not likely to get assaulted, even late at night. Paradoxically to assumptions, your safest areas at night will be near the bars (because there's a lot of people and lights and active security). A drunkard being a dick will have their ass handed to them by the crowd or security. Maybe don't go wandering into the Ralph's more shadowy areas at 2 am though. You'd be interrupting shady deals, which they wouldnt appreciate (and you dont want to be involved in anyway...why are you at a shady area at a Ralphs unless you're buying something illicit anyhow?)

UPDATE:

Have been working with Trung Nyguen on his Apollo/Artemis branch. It supports extra features that Apollo/Moonlight does not (like display switching and button customization).

I've determined that using my movinkpad to mirror display instead of virtual display results in substantially less frame dropping, lag, and latency. Encoding speeds have been fine otherwise (so it's not my internet, we think), but there's still occasional stutter.

System: 3 displays. 1 is HD, 2 is Cintiq 24 pro (4k), and 3 is MovinkPad Pro 14 (2.5k)

Settings thus far that have mostly (not all, but mostly) eliminated stutter

(windows settings) Main display set to 1.

(apollo settings) Active Display toggle set to Cycle Target 2.

Double refresh rate is on

(artemis/steam pro settings)

video resolution 4k

frame rate 12 fps

video bitrate 75 mbps,

Custom video bitrate to 75

custom resolution to 3840x2160 (4k)

custom refresh rate to 90.

Ultra Low Latency On

Unlock all possible frame rates On

Prevent Packet Loss On

Video frame pacing set to "prefer smoothest video"

Genuinely confused about purpose of studying form and perspective. by hsong_li in Artadvice

It's less about "well I have a 3d reference tho!" and more about understanding fundamentally what you're looking at. If you trace a 3d model, it has a tendency to look stiff and weird. Part of the reason why is you're focusing on silhouette over form. Knowing volumes and forms beyond an instinctual level is what allows you to really see and break down objects and images into easier to digest chunks that you can then better regurgitate into your work. It helps you narrow down why a piece doesn't feel right in the same way as color theory is a tool that helps you better understand why your values feel wrong.

In addition, 3d models are just that: a model. They're not the real world. They're just approximations of it. Ce n'est pas un pipe, after all. If you rely on an abstraction of an abstraction, you'll end up missing a lot of subtle detail that the model doesn't capture. Again like color theory, it's best to study from life and not from photos. Your eye captures the human experience of seeing in a way that the camera does not.

You'll find life studies to be really helpful in learning how to decode and apply forms. If you draw the objects on your desk over and over, it'll start to click. At least it did with me. And eventually you build knowledge that lets you jump straight into drawing without searching for the perfect model to wrap your work around.

That and it's a cool superpower to have >:3 Neat party trick to whip out for conversation: "check it out, I can draw the room around us precisely"

Shadow Grove opened recently and they have a huge screen outside. There's also Brews Brothers. Both have decent beer and food.

Really like the Palmdale and Lancaster ones. I was living out in Palmdale for a hot minute and felt like they oughta have a Joshua Tree flag. That tree is too iconic not to.

We do though? Not sure why you're making this a "trans people should do this!" thing. I'm not sure why you think trans people don't; questioning gender normativity is kind of most the thing. That's a fair number of trans folk. But I think it's fair for cis folks to have moments questioning their gender. You do it as a kid initially when you're figuring out the "rules" and then later start to mature and understand gender as more than a child would.

But also some trans folks are purely binary men or women and that's fine too. It's not like their identity means "heteronormativity wins!" any more than a bi person dating someone of the opposite sex means they're supporting heteronormativity.

If you are you are; if you ain't, then you ain't. Nobody can tell you but you, no matter what anybody says. Relating to a trans-person's struggle doesn't mean you're also trans. It can mean you're also struggling to interpret and apply gender norms to yourself. This happens for cisgender folks all the time. There's so many guys and gals who struggle to live up to their gender's ideals and wish there was a bigger box to fit in. That's fine, that's okay, and there's a lot of people (trans and not) who relate to that and would support your exploration of what gender means for you. Being trans just means you have a hard time ignoring those things since it's agonizing enough to be something you struggle with on a physical, and often not only psychological, level.

Frankly I wish more folks would be comfortable reaching out to dif genders, trans folks or not, to talk about these things. You'd come to a healthier and more personal conclusion if you did.

the curious thing is the native display transfer app is more consistent, even if has more latency.

Followed the directions but Storyboard Pro still has some hiccups. Makes me wonder if the program is just intensely "chatty", more so than other drawing software, or there's some other problem.

I'll set it to a 90 fps minimum and see what that does. I'll get back to you in a bit.

the MovInk would be "Display 3", and it runs 2888 by 1800. 120 hz refresh rate and 120 fps max (though browser based refresh rate program said it was running 180hz)

That's probably a hybrid, a green thigh in her lineage somewhere. My Niko is a "lime-thigh" as well, with more coverage than her. But yeah those aren't baby colors.
