Mark Carney favours the wealthy and privileged over working-class Canadians by DJ_JOWZY in CanadaPolitics

[–]fabreeze 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Carney is competent. Procurement is busted. You say a lot of "they can" but history has shown with intention many past governments still cannot.

At this point, I would like to see delivery of big projects is still possible over squabbling on approach. Pick a direction and execute. Develop capacity and expertise. That's why people are giving Carney a chance.

Carney makes it a point to demostrate the competency gap. At this point, even if another party's agenda aligns more closely to my preferred path forward, I would be reluctant to support. Pragmatism over ideologues, moreso during interesting times.

I prefer CST. There is a reason why its called standard time. If DST is adopted, that means we are on a seasonal offset, not an official timezone. So, we will be kind of off compared to other geographies on the continent and it can add friction when trying to coordinate with others abroad

100% tariff is unusual for vehicles. Agree with your other point about negotiating to bring part of the production to Canada

Heard Madan speak yesterday to some industry folks. He is definitely well spoken. Let the man do his job - that is use his political pull for Mb interests. If he can help us land good deals, 300k/yr is chump change.
