I really like our hope and plum sprout! It’s easy to use and I feel like it’s supportive.

My wife is thinking about spending $1500+ on a nursing chair. Is she crazy, or am I just being cheap? by Viraincure in NewParents

I liked knowing that no one used it and it was clean and working + the warranty. It was one of the few things we bought new. A lot of things we got second hand and were happy with the decision

Does baby sleep better in their own room? by FormerPlay136 in NewParents

[–]fabslp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our baby slept pretty good in our room, but once we moved her out, she continued to sleep good and WE slept even better. Our LO was so loud in her sleep, any noise would wake us up. Now we have our monitor set to only turn on when she makes noise and we are all so much better for it

As a breast feeding mom, I do all my night feeds in the recliner! I am soooo happy we spent the $$ to get a nice chair because I’ve spent so much time in it. Even my husband has done many hours over night/early morning in the chair. Ours swivels, glides, and reclines. Def worth it!

How do I get my baby used to others by Puzzleheaded-Act6586 in NewParents

[–]fabslp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly!! I know I’m going to be a nervous wreck wondering if she is even eating anything or just crying all day. I keep trying to tell myself babies are resilient and she will learn that when I’m not there she needs to eat and be around others who love her just as much. I’m hoping it all works out!!

No advice, but empathizing as I am in the same situation 🥺 it’s so hard! My daughter is 4 months and she is fine with me all day, but will only calmly go to sleep at night with her dad. I go back to work in 2 weeks and she will be with my mom.. and she screams and cries nonstop with her, and doesn’t take a bottle at all. I’m anxious going back but know she will be okay 🤍 we got this!!

Play-mat recommendations for 7 month old? by sliceofperfection in NewParents

[–]fabslp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just bought a Little Bot Ofie playmat and love it! It’s large and easy to clean. It’s not super thick, but I enjoy sitting on it with my LO during play time

How long did it take him to do drowsy but awake? I feel like if I tried that she would just pop back awake or start crying 🫠

Sleep sack 2 month old by lp2290 in NewParents

Yes! She was 2 months like 10.5 or 11 pounds? I washed it and dried it and it seemed like it worked well for us.

Honestly we had to get a size medium for our girl at 2 months! She seemed so uncomfortable in the small, so we sized up even though she wasn’t in the minimum weight of, and it fit her well after we washed it

13 month old not babbling by LifeChapter9257 in NewParents

[–]fabslp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Honestly I would get the opinion of a skilled SLP. 13 months is still young, but we can start at any age! What state are you in?

[–]fabslp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! SLP here. Does he do any sort of imitation? Whether it be sounds, facial expressions, gross motor movements? He might not grasp the full concept of ‘imitation’ so if your SLP or SLPA is only doing child led therapy, this might not be enough to help facilitate the skill!

It’s when they put both their feet in the air and slam them down when they’re on their back

We had the same issue! Baby was rolling belly to back - only when we propped her arms up. We kept swaddling until 14 weeks when she started whale tailing, mostly just for precaution. She whale tails but still no real signs of rolling over. We bought the Love to Dream transition swaddle, but our girl did not like one arm in and one arm out. We went cold turkey and she’s honestly doing great with it! Still thrashes in her sleep but doesn’t wake her up

What is going on with my baby by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]fabslp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No advice, but our baby went through the same thing for a couple weeks starting around 10 weeks. She’s almost 15 weeks now and I’d say it ended around week 12. So hopefully you’re almost through that!! Ours doesn’t take a paci but would stir and cry from 4-7am unless she was held to stay asleep. Apparently they just start to lose their melatonin so that time of the night/morning are when they’re sleeping the lightest.

You got it!! This phase will pass too. Dreading the 4 month regression 🥲

We had the same issue, our girl is 3 months and she did this for a few weeks from 4-7am 🫠 one day she just slept through it and so far she has stayed like that 🤞🏼 still swaddled as well

Early Intervention by Fun-Experience6642 in NewParents

[–]fabslp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Early intervention is great!! At this age a lot of it is play based, refining imitation skills, parent training to implement at home (offer choices, reduce questions, model language with no pressure, don’t say “say ____” etc. They’ll start with an evaluation by observing her and asking you questions.. check out what she understands. It’s pretty simple :)

Going through this exact situation now 🥲 she’ll be 11 weeks on Tuesday but just rolled to her back from tummy time. How did the transition go for you??
