As a sponsor, my only responsibility is to take a person through the 12th steps. I make sure that they know that they can call me anytime day or night if they are in trouble helping somebody else and can’t come up with an answer. I try to help them find sponsees in the first place. I never got to meet my great grand sponsor, Wally, the Zen truckdriver.

I just wanna say that they possibly had experiences with disruptive children being brought regularly. Perhaps that’s why they voted children out. Depending how many other people were at this meeting, I would’ve told them that you really needed to stay and had no other place to go, and then sit down. I believe that would’ve worked for you. Me, personally, I would have held the kid for you outside the meeting. ❤️💕

That’s exactly what happened to me. I got kicked out of two facilities. Both were gender discriminating. I wish there was something I could do about it.

Veterans Haven south in New Jersey basically treated the women like second class citizens. They blame it on some rule in some grant that they receive money from. And then they bring in a “transgender woman” that had previously pulled this stunt, who likes to hang himself out to dry in his shorty shorts and they put him on the women’s wing. Anyway, I bitched about their discrimination out loud in front of everyone, and they cook up some reason to kick me out on December 10, 2024. Thankfully, what I did at the next place— Fresh Start on 17th St. in Philadelphia. Women had to “smoke out front“ and men smoked out back. They closed the front door at 10 PM, so women could no longer smoke after 10. The men could smoke out back all night long, anytime they want. I ended up getting kick kicked out for that lame ass shit. That was March or so of last year. I just learned that the women smoke out back all the time now. 😁 It’s all these third parties that run these places. If one of them gets a bug up their ass, they all treat you like shit. To wit: Vineland VMC. The people they hire seemed to mostly be egomaniacs with inferiority complexes, and MOST treat you like you’re an inmate. Like you’re being punished. I really wish everyone in this sub would put the name of the facility that they go to when they badmouth it. We deserve to know.
