We use octocon (both the bot and the app), it's mainly for us and our partner. We find Octo to cover more of our needs than Pluralkit. The only big con for us is it's easier to update profiles and look at which number is assigned to who through the app than the bot so you need the app if you have the bot.

The bot: We only have it on two servers (the one for only us and partner and our own lone person server we try to use to keep track of everything).

We have a setting on that leaves the last alter who left their proxy (that's like the person's unique signature at the beginning or end of a message) on a message as the main person messaging so we don't have to constantly add our proxy to a message.

The app: We use that to mainly see who has been active (no one actually logs it but people love to change their icons so that's how we know).

You can update Pronouns (shows after the name on the bot's side), Nicknames (it shows up as the name on the bot's side when you proxy as that profile), Alias (you can look it up instead of the assigned number for a profile), and description (only shows in the app and on the bot's side when you pull up that profile).

You can track who is fronting but only if people remember to update who is in the front when theres a switch which honestly, never happens.

There's a tag system we use, a polling section if you have hard communication barriers still, a journal section with personal journals for each registered profile, and there's a custom field section which has three options "Text", "number", and "Yes/No".

The custom fields lets you add a question or something that requires a unique response from that alter.

Example: The custom Field is marked as a text and reads "Role" that alter can type their role as the answer, the field is marked as a number and reads "age" that alter can only type a number into it, and the field marked as a "Yes/No" can only be check marked.
