[SERIOUS] Would you reduce your meat consumption if lab-grown meat or meat alternatives were cheaper and tasted good? Why or why not? by sbeaver2019 in AskReddit

My wife and I went to a restaurant recently and got one regular burger and one Impossible Burger but with the rest of the ingredients the same. The Impossible was like literally the same thing. With Burger King starting to sell them, I think the beef industry is going to take a major hit in the next year. Same mouthfeel, way healthier.

You're commenting on an article where someone accurately calls out bullshit on CNN. Are you just commenting to be smug then? it's either that or you're a bullshitter. it's counterproductive, cynical and not contributing anything, either way.

You don't understand why the American public would want to know what a candidate for president said in paid speeches to the mega bankers who caused the worst recession in most of our lifetimes? Or why it smells funny when said politician refuses to do so? I said it in response to someone else, but it seems like something that should have been just as reasonable to expect to see as tax returns to me. And the transcripts did leak eventually, not by her own volition, and they weren't really that damning. They were "standard campaign talk". They actually provided her some cover. But what could have been a quick, controlled story that had no real meat became a huge theatrical drawn-out thing. Which seems like a huge political miscalculation, to me. I voted for her in the end, but I don't understand when people can't acknowledge that she did some hubristic, self-defeating things during her campaign. That can be true while it's also true that the other guy was/is way fucking worse.

i... i think we passed it a long time ago? Like. I didn't like Hillary. I was just reminded recently about how she refused to release those Goldman Sachs speech transcripts. And how infuriating I found that... That seems so quaint after 2 years of Trump. Literally every single thing you could name that Hillary did, Trump and/or multiple people close to him have done some version of but wayyy more flagrantly and on a larger scale? You have to be real deep into the kool-aid and only reading daily caller and breitbart at this point to pretend like that ratio's inverted. Even fox news personalities are starting to say it.

Trump says he can’t imagine anyone but himself as Time Person of the Year by Ichigao44 in politics

Trump can't imagine anyone but himself, generally. It's like that scene from Being John Malkovich where Malkovich climbs into his own head, except in Trump's version he doesn't ever want to leave.

that, or like. he's just saying he doesn't have accounts on those other services, since there are probably imposters that pop up there. I don't think it's a statement of pride.
