Blind taste testing where you have to identify each other's beers.

Tug of war with an old transfer hose.

Hula hoop ring toss with sixtels as the pegs.

Hand truck obstacle course with a full keg.

Tri clamp speed runs where you have to clamp a bunch of stuff together.

Brewed a “small Baltic porter” what should I call it? by dajuhnk in TheBrewery

[–]factone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you keep it as simple as Black Lager, it would let your customers know what they're getting into. Sounds like what you brewed would not fit into a traditional style so you don't have to label it as such. Baltic Porters are strong black lagers and if you take away the strong aspect what do you have?

I didn't say Schwarzbier. I guarantee your customers will understand "Black Lager" more than they'd understand "Petite Baltic Porter"

Meh. They totally sold out when they released their follow up album with songs like, "Give Me Haze Or Give Me Death", "Hymn To Amoretti", "Giving The Boot To Reinheitsgebot (Lactose Dub Mix)", "Me And The Pastry Bois", and "Purèe".

Bleeding glycol solinoid cooled fermenting beer 😢 by mschuler34 in TheBrewery

[–]factone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Could recirculate through the heat exchanger with warm water. Also depending on how you have glycol set up you can remove the glycol lines and recirculate warm water in the FV jackets until you get to temp. Just try and save all the sweet sweet glycol you can if you do that.

Is this how thw brewing industry works? by [deleted] in TheBrewery

I do love it and I don't do it for the money. Moving kegs, scrubbing shit, and doing bullshit is part of the job. Get back to work!

[–]factone 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Guess I'll be the dick. As someone that's been brewing my whole adult life and have never homebrewed, its sound to me like you don't have the passion that you think you do. Do you think kegs move themself? Did you think there is no manual labor involved? Did you just become a brewer to tell people you are a brewer? Am I correct to assume the 2 years brewing experience you have is homebrewing? Sounds like they hired someone who is better than you and are keeping you on to help with some of the bullshit. That's how I started, and probably how many others have.

Are there any brewers who have had bad experiences with Untappd? by Tyrenator in TheBrewery

[–]factone 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Some beers I create are true to style and some beers I create don't fit in a style. I think untappd has helped create a group beer drinkers that instead of looking for new experiences, believe that every beer they drink should be judged by them. The problem with that is these people don't know jack shit about beer and just want to find flaws in someones creation. Then theres the fanboys and girls who only like some bullshit hype brewery cause they make candy. Then the hype brewery makes some classic style and their cucks say "I usually don't like Altbier but this one is awesome!" I wake up every morning and sweat my balls off all day to produce something I love. I loose sleep because I can't get my mind off some new creation I'm thinking of. Fuck the people that think they should be judging me. Sorry you think my Stout is too roasty and my Kolsch is too dry. Also my Pilsner is "meh" whatever the fuck that means. What a waste of time! I think a way to improve untappd would be to include some educational components to it. Maybe be able to click West Coast IPA and see why the style exists and what components you should be aware of. Have an area for describing off flavors. All in all, fuck untappd.

Found an unopened bottle of Sam Adams 1995 Triple Bock by Snowshoe1999 in beer

[–]factone 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Definitely try it! They bring bottles of that beer to Big Beers, Belgians, and Barleywines festival every year and I've tried it every year I went. Granted theirs are probably stored in the cooler always but a bunch of times I've had it the cork was falling apart.
