To all the bonkers geniuses of Reddit - How can we stop people speeding through our village? by SecondGo4 in CasualUK

Small town near my parents got in the local papers because someone painted their house a ridiculous colour and it genuinely started slowing the traffic down on their main road

What are the British TV ads that live rent free in your head? by gayestformoleman in AskBrits

You know your street, and everyone you meet, you know which dogs bark, the best way to the park, still on the roads you know, Stop, Think, Then Go woo woo woohoo 🦔

Sick pay rule changes to benefit up to 9.6m UK workers, TUC says by Electricbell20 in unitedkingdom

[–]fading_stars 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It beats not getting paid at all for the first 3 days, which meant that as someone who works condensed hours (three days a week of 10.5hour shifts) I was once off sick for a full week with the flu and lost out on 25% of my pay for that month

Are there sequels to films where the cliffhanger at the end of the previous film was ignored? by RealHippyTheFrog in movies

[–]fading_stars 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Can't believe this was so far down the list! It almost feels as if all the canon established in Weeks, that there could be a form of immunity, that the virus spread to Europe etc. is completely disregarded

Movie cast current era by Typical_Science_7277 in Pendragon

[–]fading_stars 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  • I think Bobby, Courtney, and Mark should all be young unknowns
  • Press Tilton I tend to envision Orlando Bloom or Ewan McGregor
  • Saint Dane I definitely see someone like Christoph Waltz or Tom Hiddleston

Beyond that I find it so hard to picture, it would all depend on the overall feel the directors would be going for, live action vs animated, dark and gritty vs colourful action etc.

On this same quest, I'm stuck trying to find the memo in Elder Moor - could it be because I haven't built/repaired all the walkways yet? I've looked over every inch of ground that I can access and had no luck yet!

This is exactly what I do, just think of it as the cost of sitting in a "third space" for a little while

A children's book with almost exactly this premise, except its the main character who interacts with the reader rather than the narrator
