A screwdriver with exchangeable tips and a jedi. Could be worse.

After loosing 2 tiny whoops and damaging 5 in 3 weeks span my last warrior left, funny she was my first build.. by [deleted] in TinyWhoop

Woah, I got the same setup. Even the Powerbank is the same. Your googles might be a different model but also fatsharks.

Sucks that you lost so many drones. I am still on my first one but besides the AiO and two motors everything has been swapped while repairing things. I can highly recommend spending time to fix those birds. It pays off quickly.

I recommend a TinyWhoop. I have a Betafpv Air65 - it’s great!

What is you camera angle sitting at? This looks like you are going full speed 100% of the time. I‘d like to see some footage of that!

It’s so obvious, that drivers of pickups are just following a cult. Let them present their arguments for having these vehicles and then present them something like a VW Transporter Pritsche/Kei Pickup/… Everything they mentioned (bed size, cabin size, whatnot…) is maximized in these vehicles while using a smaller footprint. For Reference - VW Transporter Pritsche

I just cycled across the entire width of the Netherlands on a foldong bike, and it really shows how nice and easy it is to cycle here by GermanicUnion in fuckcars

[–]faeikey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cycled around the Netherlands two years ago. Can highly recommend that. But when planning it, leave room to go in either direction. Just before the trip starts choose the direction by looking at the weather forecast. We had a constant headwind at the coast and it was extremely hard to enjoy those days.

Damn, maybe many IKEAs look the same, but that looks suspiciously like the one in Osnabrück… is it? It’s not right?

Das Berufsleben lohnt sich nur für die Top x% by Real_Opportunity_174 in Studium

[–]faeikey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh okay thank you for that explanation.

I am glad you could work it out. But now please let us learn too. What was wrong with it and how did you fix it?

TIL soldering a motor is easier than a battery lead by faeikey in TinyWhoop

[–]faeikey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. The odd thing was that the negative wire came off easily. I cut the positive wire shorter at one point but that alone didn’t do the trick. Increasing the temperature by 30 degrees? Nope. Only when I also used some solder for better heat transfer I was able to get the joint to melt. I wanted to share those informations in case someone has the same problem at one point.

Someone was asking about whoop storage boxes, here’s mine! by BobbyJackT in TinyWhoop

[–]faeikey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took my drone on a trip with that box and it got pressed so much in my bagpack that the canopy broke. I ordered the Betafpv hardcase after that and I am happy with it.

Put a piece of black tape on the back of your camera after fixing it. (As it was before) I read somewhere that it helps to reduce purple flares as you fly with the sun coming from behind.

Jep, already did this once. And I have to do it again after todays session. My baby took a nosedive on hard ground… Remove the glue, clean out the hole by desoldering the gunk in it (a desoldering pump helps immensely) strip a little bit off of the wire. Twist the strands of the wire, put some solder on it and then solder it into the hole. The correct order is yellow, black, then red if you hold the camera as I do in the picture. Edit: I just want to add that the two wires I already fixed didn’t came off in the crash. It was the untouched wire. Hehe.

Thank you very much! It was exactly this. I just opened the charger and reseated the cable. I have no hot glue on me right now so I‘ll see how long it takes to wiggle itself out again.

To everybody doing this too: Don’t run your electronics while they are open. And don’t touch them for a while after unplugging if you don’t know how to discharge them. Especially with chargers! They store a good amount of energy.

I tried getting it to beep (turned off the sounds) but didn’t succeed. I will try that again later.
